Bernie Sanders for POTUS?

Yes please.

Side Score: 9
VS.

No thank you.

Side Score: 5

I like Bernie because I think he's one of the few politicians that actually cares about people. However, I think his ideas are unrealistic given the current state of the country. Maybe some day when the country isn't in massive debt, no thanks to the last two presidents and the current one, then maybe some of his ideas will be more attainable, but right now his ideas are nothing more than a utopian pipe dream.

Although he is too far left for my taste, I wouldn't mind having him as POTUS, primarily because I think he would do a great job of "draining the swamp," unlike Trump who filled the swamp with some of the worst people imaginable, and I think congress would keep his more unrealistic ideas in check. If he plans on running next election, hopefully he will move closer to center.

I know, right? A few issues I love about him is the right to choose how one dies, single payer healthcare, abolishing torture, hardly any war, racial unity, children's rights, and so on.

Yes, socialism worked so well all those other times and nobody starved or was murdered.

No.

Enough of this flying from one extreme to another. We don't need a fascist state. And we don't need a socialist state. We need a balance of power with a sensible group of adults learning to balance and govern wisely. Pick someone to govern, not someone to entertain with ideology and flash.

Bernie and I are progressive democratic socialists, not fascists. Fascism would be right wing, and is basically crony capitalism.

Of course. I was being exhaustive in my comments, trying to show we don't need EITHER extreme.

@KJV

Islam is fascist according to its own definition of itself. And we both know leftists don't mind fascism or any other vile ideology if it can somehow claim victimhood or some tortured definition of social injustice...

If people who believed in Trumpism called it something else and voted Democrat, CNN would tell us to tolerate making America great again and promote a border wall themselves...

I can't believe he was ever seriously considered as a candidate. I don't think he ever was intended to be a serious candidate though, I think the whole point of him running was to gauge how ready people were for socialism.

Why do I say that? Because if the primaries weren't rigged for Clinton, he would have won. That's what I think. The support Bernie had was astounding. Murals were even painted of him here in Austin. People were passionate about this guy.

Why?

Maybe the Soviet Union isn't dead, just playing hide and seek! Muhahahaha!
