I would have to say most definately, most boxers and UFC fighters end up with messed up brains after making a career out of beating people up. The sports are not really even as watched as they were in the past, so I say save a couple people's bodies and just abolish it.

I like to see people get the pounding they deserve. Which is why they shouldn't abolish porn either ;)

Right but in porn the women are not going to have head trauma, at the most they will suffer from is being loose.

Boxing and UFC after making a career out of getting your head beaten in can only lead to bad things. That and the number of people that watch boxing alone has declined to a ridiculously low number. The Floyd vs Oscar was the biggest fight in to long a time, You were seeing ads to watch it on tv. That was the last time I have heard anything about boxing.

Are you saying that Linda Lovelace didn't get any head trauma for doing Deep Throat? ;)

I'd rather see them abolish wrestling since it's a bogus sport to begin with. I see nothing wrong with boxing as a sport. There are many that are just as dangerous if not more. Perhaps the reason for viewership decline is that every boxing match of any worth is always a pay-per-view event and not free which was how it used to be. The Friday night fights were televised for many a year with good ratings and even the heavyweight championship fights were free.

Most definately agree, I used to enjoy boxing but now I never see the matches I want to see since they are sometimes ridiculously priced, I feel like I'm paying for tickets and not ppv.

Nah,

I firmly believe two consenting adults should be able to do whatever they want with eachother, whether it's bone or fight. If someone doesn't like it, don't participate,

but people have to stop trying to tell people what they can or can't do.

I hate these sports (especially UFC), but that doesn't mean it should be abolished. It's a real shame that people are so bloodthirsty that they get off on this sort of thing, but as long as everyone who gets hurt knows the risks they are taking, then it's really up to them. They're stupid, but it's up to them. I actually met a UFC fighter recently, and when we met, his hand/arm (don't remember) was broken. I asked him how often he got hurt like that, and he said, "frequently".

More than the harm the two fighters feel (which is their own damn fault), it worries me for the people who watch them, who perhaps glorify violence for the sake of violence. These aren't like hockey fights where the guys have at least a reason to be pissed and beating on each other. In these sports, they're just fighting to see who's going to win. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

In conclusion, boxing and UFC fighting are both stupid sports, but abolishing them is even stupider.
