Can one ever find as much happiness in a second marriage or it the first always "THE" one?

Omg it's whatever.

It depends on the people, the circumstances, their maturity, et cetera.

Nothing is universal when it comes to relationships.

Side: First is better

Depending on the age and experiences of the partners I'd say the second is always better. In the first marriage one may have gone through the 'illusion' of what they perceived to be married life and were disappointed in the same. As one grows apart from their first partner they learn to know what does and does not make them happy and what they can put up with and what they can't. A second marriage may not have all the bells and whistles of the first but I would bet it's better grounded for both parties. Being so would make that marriage last if, after all is said and done, one learns that a relationship is truly a work in progress and one must guard that love and trust with every fiber of their being.

Side: Second is better

If you didn't a learn a damn thing from your first marriage then your second marriage can't possibly be any better.

Side: Second is better

I don't see the question. It's fully possible to find love and happiness many, many times, in varying degrees. I don't believe in a "soul mate" or "Mr. Right."

A person can find happiness in a second marriage because often, they have learned from their past mistakes. They then will look for someone better suited and will hopefully, not make the same mistakes they did the first time.
