Because of the following:

- belief in 'survival of the fittest' / competitivity / malthusianism / domination;

- political corruption, lobbying;

- moneys going to Banksters, Wall-Street, Corporations, Mil-Ind-complexes, etc;

- lack of awareness & transparency;

- intrinsically rapacious forms and manifestations of capitalism;

- lack of holistic data, analysis & mechanisms in politics;

- corrupted science & studies;

- lack of communication and interoperation between various 'tribes' forming a state;

- antiquated copyright laws;

- no true worldwide coordination;

Yes , that's why the goals outlined will never come to realisation.

That's easy, just feed all of the people to the rest of the world. .........................................

We certainly can, by (just a few little examples):

- aeroponics & hydroponics;

- software systems to assist for more efficient food transportation, local produce sells/buys & small cooperative management (diminishing the 40% global food throwaways);

- creating a global rating for 'Circular/Doughnut Economy' standards, applying it to all products & systems;

- topsoil regeneration procedures;

- using debate systems to vet the most efficient & beneficial endeavors that can holistically benefit Humanity and then promoting those to investors;

etc.

Yes we sure can. There is a nifty building right now, I can't recall were it is...I want to say it's in or near a large city, that is multiple stories and is a vertical garden. It takes up less land use, the chemicals used to spray the plants don't leech into the water supply and it's entirely self contained but it produces enough food to feed a large city. That's one building, maybe in a block radius that can feed a large city using less chemicals, less energy (solar panels on the roof) and less land use than a typical farm.

I need to find that article so i can back all that up but yes, we can save the environment and feed the world.

How can that be done when it takes fossil fuel to harvest the food and transport the food?

Have you ever heard of: electrical vehicles, or renewable energy in any way? or how about: aeroponics or hydroponics (which do not need big-machine harvesting) ? or about local food production / distribution ?

Why would we want to feed the world?

Natural selection dictates that those who cannot fend for themselves must die.
