Considering that belief in evolution is not a prerequisite to atheism, yes, you do not need to believe in evolution to be an atheist.

Yes.

The word atheist, doesn't it simply mean that one believes nothing is bigger than him self?

There is no bigger power or anything. After death there is nothing and their existence will disappear.

So yes, you can be an atheist and not believe evolution happened.

But kinda I think that's stupid, cause I think its been proved that evolution happened.

You have an interesting idea of atheism.

You word it as if atheists think they're some sort of god.

An atheist rejects gods. Nothing more.

You say "Believe in Hinduism!" An atheist says, "no, I don't think Hinduism is true, so I'm not going to spend my life obeying it's rules and myths."

Someone else says "Become a Christian and go to heaven!" An atheist says, "No, I don't think the Bible is true, so I'm not going to spend my life obeying it's rules and myths."

And so on. An atheist only denies religion and gods as being true. It doesn't have any philosophical weight besides that.

Atheism is not communism, it's not satanism, it's only thinking "Wait, before you tell me God is real, prove it with more than a book."

Because committing to a faith like that is not just a little thing. There are a lot of religions, and each person in each religion believes in their religion very strongly. You say you strongly believe God talked to you in another comment.

I have known Muslims who say the same thing. I have known creationists to say that too. I know Wiccans communicate with nature.

How can you be correct? If your Bible wasn't so specific, "NO GODS BEFORE ME", then maybe I would be more tolerant, but your religion is extremely oppressive. It will push down any other religion it can, and it will corrupt as many cultures as possible.

That is why I am atheist. I don't think "DEATH IS ABSOLUTE." I don't think "I AM THE GREATEST FORCE ON EARTH."

Even if those are true or untrue, it's not atheism. Atheism is only denying gods.

And evolution is a theory. It can be disproved very easily.

Simply find evidence that all species came to be another way, and evolution will be instantly questioned.

Simply evidence isn't enough to knock it though. You'd need proof and a good hypothesis. Creationism doesn't work, and I can't imagine any other system better than evolution to explain the diversity of life, so I'm pretty sure evolution is true.

Yes, check out the Raelians, they are a group of atheists who believe in intelligent design by aliens. Also, there are a couple of books about non intelligent design, but non evolutionary abiogenesis.
