Canker sores. To salt or not?
Like many others, I am often plagued by canker sores. I've found that dumping salt on the open sore is super effective, but is quite painful. Do the few (highly painful) moments a day that you'll have to perform to get rid of the sores compensate for shaving a day or two off of recovery, or not?

I had no idea what a canker sore was. I had to look it up! For English-English speakers: mouth ulcer. I sometimes put salt on them too. I kind of like the satisfaction of the pain, in a strange way. There are better alternatives from a pharmacist though. There are things now that you put it on once and don't have any trouble from then on. Side: Salt away!
For me, it's worth it, since I've built some resistance to the pain, and it allows me to nip a small one in the bud before it gets large and painful. It's far more effective than mouthwash (although in any case, you should up your mouthwash usage to deal with the sores). EDIT: It's also a little \m/ Side: Salt away!
