Changing your opinion based on new information is actually how things should work.

Changing your opinion based on new conservative information is actually how things should work.
That's how adults function.

That's the theory based on sound rational reasoning.

But there are countless examples, such as religion, where we can clearly see that reason and rational thought based on well established, indisputable scientific facts is eclipsed by the superstitious mumbo jumbo of the various man made faiths.

We have millions of people world wide praying and singing their praises to a range of non-existent gods.

Tribal voting is yet another case where people's political allegiance is based on their traditional voting habits, and those of their parents and not on the the manifesto of the party of their choice.

Precisely the same applies to atheism, hence you are not exemplifying "rational thought", but a preconceived personal bias. Militant atheists such as yourself are even worse than the theists, because at least the theists are capable of admitting they aren't being rational. Twits like you throw out the precise same fallacies as theists and you become just as unreasonable when others explain where your logic has broken down. You aren't rational. You are a moron.

Yup. If your opinion is set in stone you lack the ability to grow as a person when new information comes out that you refuse to consider.

I guess the reason libs don't change their opinion is because they are not functioning adults ;)

Buddy, are you aware that liberals are the progressives and conservatives are the traditionalists? Most Conservatives still oppose gay marriage ffs. And don't even get me started on climate science. Conservatives respond to any new information about the climate by sneering that the climate has always been there, hence no problem.

Side: Wait..., what? No!

Climate change is like the weather. If you don't like it, just wait long enough and it will change. The word "change" is even in the name! It's called Climate Change for a reason. They expect it to change. And, like the weather, we can't change it. So..., I hope this new information has changed your opinion ;)

You haven't changed all that much. You go from center-right to center-left and back every 2 weeks but your fundamental programming doesn't change.

I am neither liberal nor conservative. I never have fit in either the far left, or the far right. I don't think you know what a centrist is, so let the adults handle this one.

Even a CHILD can see that, given new, factual evidence, one should change their minds if it points to that.

A mind that refuses to change when facts, tapes, videoed speeches and lies are revealed is actually the mind of a non-functioning adult (i.e. brainwashed). Conservatively speaking, I think that MANY non-functioning minds will begin to stir again, shortly. A BUNCH of them did in the LAST election …. may the force be with U.S.!
