Chicago Marks 300 Homicides In 2016
The city recorded its 300th homicide this weekend and went on to record six others over a 60-hour period that saw 56 people shot, 13 fatally, from Friday afternoon through early Monday morning. So far this year, about 1,800 people have been shot across the city and more than 200 of those wounded have died of their wounds, according to records kept by the Chicago Tribune. A total of 306 people have been killed this year by shooting, stabbing or other means, Tribune records show. Of Chicago's 300 homicides this year, more than 200 of them have been from firearms. About 1,800 people have been shot this year in Chicago.
Why is it Gun Control in Chicago is not working ?
I would be curious to know if those 300 homicides are about as much as, or even more than they had back in those wild gangster days in the 1920's and 30's? I wouldn't be surprised if they were higher today, since there is obviously more people and the city is probably four times as big as back then. But I don't get your argument? Since when is Chicago or the state of Illinois practicing gun control? Surely it is not practicing it as much as the liberals want? So couldn't a gun-control advocating liberal take your stats on Chicago homicides and say, "See! We need more gun control to make these homicides go down!" Please explain after reading this link that proves my point.......https://www.dnainfo.com/ Thanks. SS 1

Because Illinois has different gun laws than the CITY of chicago. And the states bordering Illinois also have less strict gun laws. People go outside the city to get guns then come back. If you took Chicago's laws and applied them across the whole state and bordering states you would see that number drop. 1
