Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

It is only Christian violence if they commit these crimes in the name of Jesus. If not, they are crimes by people who happen to be Christians who oppose something they adamantly oppose, in this case abortion. Many Christians are pro choice, so you can't use Christians as an excuse unless they say they did it in the name of Jesus.
No. I don't believe Christianity is responsible for the murders commited by the ones I've listed either. Interesting though. Why do you think Christianity inspires people to kill? I thought it was a religion of peace?
There is no such thing as a religion of peace. Some condone violence, some condone turning the other cheek and allowing violence to take place like a passive farm animal. Either way there will still be violence and religion isn't going to fix that.
Because some people haven't actually read the teachings of Christ, and created their own belief
Are you seriously suggesting that any Christian that kills hasn't read the Bible? That would be a very easy fact for me to disprove. Or do you want to reconsider what you said?
Do you agree then that these Christian murderers probably have read the Bible
I know nothing about the bombers. For all I know they were mentally handicapped, had PTSD, or made decisions simply base on what they thought Jesus would have taught.
And if they have read the Bible fully, they are hardly different than any rogue Islamic terrorist. But statistically, per person, no faith or Islamic faith is far more dangerous.
You are trying to change the topic yet again. What I want to know is what percentage of Christians would have to be inspired by the Bible to kill for it to be statistically significant.
Not really. I've been extremely active concerning the Clinic bombings despite there being no actual point made by you. So what is your point? That 11 people in clinics have been killed in 30 years by Christians? Okay, and?
What I want to know is what percentage of Christians would have to be inspired by the Bible to kill for it to be statistically significant
Any amount is "significant". But unlike Atheists and Muslims, we come out in mass and condemn vile acts by our clan and anyone else. We also point out that Christianity is far less deadly than other beliefs or lack of beliefs per person statistically. There's probably a systematic reason.
The point? Poodles have technically killed people, but that doesn't make them typically dangerous or as dangerous as Pit bulls. And it's okay to point out that Pit bulls are dangerous, despite that not all Pit bulls kill people.
Well now you're contradicting yourself but you were actually right the first time:
But statistically, per person, no faith or Islamic faith is far more dangerous.
When we judge the qualities of a group then we should only look at the qualities that are statistically significant: that represent the whole. The percentage of Christians that murder is not statistically significant.

Red herring. If an entire group has a quality then it is irrelevant that they apologise for it.

So show us the death toll by Christian extremists vs Islamic extremists worldwide. Then tell us what those totals mean.
Then tell us, if one group has a small number of kills and another group has a large number of kills, which group is more dangerous.
Then tell us, if one person wearing a red shirt kills a person out of 10,000,000 red shirt wearing people, is it logical to then say "red shirt wearers are dangerous" if only one out of 10,000,000 red shirt wearers kills someone.
Then tell us, if one group has a small number of kills and another group has a large number of kills, which group is more dangerous.
It is a question of proportionality rather than actual number.

Thank you. You have just made my point. It is not rational at all to say that Christians are dangerous because only 1 in 10k kill. The proportion of Muslims, particularly in the west, that are violent is far far lower than 1 in a 10k. We are finally getting somewhere. You must surely now concede and change your views on muslims.

And why would I do that?
During the 2015/2016 New Year's Eve celebrations, there were mass sexual assaults, 24 alleged rapes, and numerous thefts in Germany, mainly in Cologne city center. There were similar incidents at the public celebrations in Hamburg, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart[26] and Bielefeld.[14][27][28] For all of Germany, police report that 1,200 women were sexually assaulted and estimate that at least 2,000 men were involved, acting in groups.
All of the incidents involved women being surrounded and assaulted by groups of men on the street.[29][30] Police reported that the perpetrators were men of "Arab or North African appearance" and said that Germany had never experienced such mass sexual assaults before.[20][30][31][32][33] The German Federal Criminal Police Office said the incidents were, "A phenomenon known in some Arab countries as taharrush jamai" (translated as "group sexual harassment").[34][35][36][37] The attacks sparked an international outcry, a debate about women's rights, the sustainability of Germany's asylum policy, and social differences between European societies and those of North Africa and the Middle East.

Okay. Citizens from Middle Eastern and/or African cultures use terroristic acts to kill others and each other at a highly abnormal rate compared to people from Western cultures. And these terroristic acts tend to target mass numbers of people, where Western militant groups tend to not target civilians, but rather consist of ambushes on cops. Those cultures also rape each other and others at an abnormal rate as well. They even have rape games in their culture such as taharrush gamea.
Bible knowing maniac doesn't equal plethoras of atheist murderers. It equals one Bible knowing maniac
Why are you comparing it to those you feel are inspired by atheists? Surely if something is inspiring people to murder then it irrelevant if there are also other ideologies that are inspiring people to murder.
Why are you comparing it to those you feel are inspired by atheists
Because your narrative is "Christians kill abortion clinic employees, thus Christianity is dangerous", but in reality, statistically, Atheism doesn't help decrease violence, and Islam statistically is far more dangerous worldwide. Is it vile that they bombed these clinics? Yes. But, 11 deaths in 30 years shows that your narrative is cute, but also a false equivalency.
Well let's just take a looksie Atrag. If all of the Christians and Atheists were wearing red shirts, and all of the Muslims were wearing blue shirts, what are the odds in this situation that a woman gets sexually assaulted in Cologne, Germany on New Years Eve by a blue shirt wearer compared to a red shirt wearer?

Yes. Me making coffee from a wheelchair or being monopolized by Nom's plethora of emotional rants means you win. Would you like me to find you an ocd 4 year old bot who isn't debating Nomenclature to debate?
So show us Christianity killing more people than all other religions combined. I'm game. Especially seeing that Mao was a Buddhist and Christianity didn't exist through most of human history.
Let me see if I can find numbers on the Muslim conquests through the entire Middle East, Europe, and China...which imperialistically gave Muslims a swath of land that is well bigger than all of Europe.
To be honest pope francis is know to ask forgiveness left and right for no reason. And the Rwandan genocide was no commited by catholics but by the Hutus
This has nothing to do with abortion clinics. Maybe you should think before you post, or hire a chimpanzee to post for you. Maybe your post logic would improve...
After looking at the list only 3 appeared to have something involved with Christians. From a Christian perspective what those Christians did was wrong, and we know why it was wrong according to what we believe. Which is why people like that is why they need Jesus and His grace that He offers to each and every single person.
