Christians: Would you save Jesus if you could?

You are a Christian. You love Jesus. If you could go back in time and save him, would you? To stop him from incredible torture? Bare in mind that if you save him, you will be accountable for your sins. You won't be able to throw your hands in the air and I say "I'm a sinner!! Save me!!" evertime you do something wrong. Rather you will have to be a good person. If you're not a good person you will go to hell.

So what will it be? Save Jesus and be responsible for your own sins or let him die and have the get out of jail free card?

I would totally try. If I tried to save Jesus they would have written about me in the Bible.

Side: Yes

I would do everything in my power to save him, just as I would with anyone else I found in harms way. If there is anything(1) I can do to help someone in need, I would find it morally reprehensible not to do so.

If Jesus' destiny was to die, and this was decided by God, then either my intervention would be destined to fail, or Jesus would simply die at a later point, outside of my ability to intervene. If, somehow, Gods plan to save mankind from their many sins was completely derailed by an act of altruism (of all things!) I would find the irony delicious.

1-I should probably clarify 'anything' here. Anything, in this cases, represents what I am able to do, with a reasonable chance of success, and without putting myself or my family under significant hardship or risk. Directly opposing the Roman military, for example, would likely be a death sentence for myself and my family, and as such would not be considered an option. Similarly, working at a soup kitchen and donating to help the poor are things I can do, but I would not invite the homeless to stay at my home, nor would I donate beyond what I can bear comfortably without impacting my families welfare (including saving for college for my children).

No, I wouldn't save Jesus. I would let Him die on the cross for everyone's sins.

So an innocent man dies so you don't have to take responsible for your sins. Fair enough.

Strawman. You are twisting my words to make my personal beliefs easier to attack. Try being honest and saying that you disagree. Jesus is the only way to be saved. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Acts 4: 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

That was Gods plan all along. This was the ultimate sacrifice, so stopping that would have ruined everything. Jesus knew what he was doing. Don't act like he was taken by surprise or anything.

I take responsibility by accepting Jesus. .

No, because God wouldn't allow it. Jesus knew before the universe was created that this would be a task. Jesus understood what was going on. Also, without that attonement nobody would be able to reach God as nobody can get to the father but Jesus.

About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"). Matthew 27:46.

Can you explain that? It seems to me he didn't know.

Human form. Simple as that. Human's inherently have limited knowledge. Being a human he had limited knowledge. In his original form he knew all.

He knew what was happening and that's why he had this reaction. A crucifixion is a grueling task, of course he said things like "my God, my God, why have you forsaken me." Just because he said this doesn't mean he didn't know it was coming.

Side: No

Salvation is not by works but by repenting and accepting Yeshua.

It doesn't matter what we pick, God was in full control of the situation so Jesus was going to die for us no matter what.

It's safe to assume Srom is the Christian in the video.

Any Christian would say no. It makes no sense. Jesus saved us. It was the ultimate sacrifice. He had to die, stopping it would have defeated the purpose.
