Climate Change Alarmists say warming linked to diabetes
“Diabetes incidence and glucose intolerance prevalence increase with higher outdoor temperature,” for every 1 degree Celsius increase in temperature, there is an age-adjusted diabetes incidence increase of 0.314 per 1,000 people. The report’s authors state in their conclusion, “Our findings indicate that the diabetes incidence rate in the USA and prevalence of glucose intolerance worldwide increase with higher outdoor temperature.” Lisanne Blauw, one of the co-authors of the report, which was authored by a team of seven Dutch researchers, said their results add something important to the global warming conversation. “When it gets warmer, there is higher incidence of diabetes,” Blauw told the Huffington Post. “It’s important to realize global warming has further effects on our health, not only on the climate.”
The insanity of the Climate Change Alarmist are now reaching new lows of Stupidity.
So when the government controls the environment through regulations as Progressives see it diabetes will be eliminated !
The increasing stupidity of the Left does in fact seem to be growing day by day. What is the diabetes type 2 rate in Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, etc.? Should be off the chart if temperature has a direct correlation. Wonder why the Dutch researchers didn't study Egypt , Libya and Saudi Arabia ? What is the diabetes type 2 rate in Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, etc.? The rate of diabetes in Egypt is higher than the world average. If you check Libya you will find they are above average as well. Saudi Arabia, too. Should be off the chart if temperature has a direct correlation. No, it would be higher. The amount of correlation was small. Wonder why the Dutch researchers didn't study Egypt , Libya and Saudi Arabia ? You should wonder why you didn't actually check if they have a low rate of diabetes. http://drc.bmj.com/content/5/1/e000317 Engage them SouthPark your internet knowledge should be legendary after that ! Did you bother to look up the "why" rationale or did you just take the headline? Just the headline, of course. Here's another link on the subject. http://www.popsci.com/ Basically, the rationale is warmer weather makes people less active, which increases weight, which increased diabetes. Not an outlandish rationale. I still don't buy the causality, myself. It could just as easily be that the lifestyles resulting in destruction of the earth and causing climate change also are resulting in the destruction of our own health (based on what we eat, our bad exercise, etc), which means conditions are parallel instead of caused by each other. But that's not the same as your own knee jerk reaction of declaring everything not opaquely conservative to be a lie. |
