Contemplating hiatus.
So, I've been thinking about this for a while, now. I just don't have the same fire or passion for debating now, in comparison to when I first joined the site, and I don't want to be that one member that frequently posts one liners that don't have any actual content, which is what I feel like I've started to become. Although, I'm not sure if a temporary relief of the site will fix that or not...
If there's anyone here who's felt like this, and gotten past, knowing a way to get past it *without* hiatus would be awesome.

Instead of looking for something to respond to, create debate about topics you want to discuss (not necessarily debate). People who find the topic interesting, will talk to you about it. Since it is two people discussing an interesting topic, there's no need for fiery passion and one liners. I am basically suggesting that you think of new and innovative ways to use the site besides debating or trolling. I was going to use the original Music Box as an example but noticed that you had already created Music Box 2. So, you're on the right track. I read the news and post the ones I find interesting. Maybe instead of the Music Box, how about pictures? You can call it, "hootchie mamas" ;) Google has Tree Tuesday. Anyway, that is my 2 cents worth ;) I think it's good to take a break. When something pops into your head that you think would make a good debate, pop in and post it. I hope I don't come across a jerk here, but I really don't think there is a need to announce that you are going to make yourself scarce for awhile, just do. The site will be better off with you as an active member, even if there are periods where you aren't here much. |
