Hah, its funny. I think lobbyists are a bad idea, somewhat because they breed corruption, but mostly for the reason given to the "yes" argument. They fund campaigns. I don't think the amount of money you have should have anything to do with getting elected. I don't think anyone attempting to get a political seat, of any kind, should take money from anyone, unless they worked for it. There shouldn't be commercials, signs, or tours around the country promoting themselves. The people should decide who their candidates will be, not the corporations. Side: Bad - breeds corruption

I don't know where to begin on how broken the lobbyist system is. How can a system, where the parties in power have the sole goal of maximizing profit lead to any positive results for the citizens? Most of the time, what would benefit the voters is the opposite of what the corporate lobbyists want. In my opinion that is the reason for incredibly expansive wars, useless subsidies and a health system in crisis. While you're at it, do away with earmarks as well ;) Side: Bad - breeds corruption
