Could North Korea beat South Korea?

Yes, if China helps them.

We don't know much about NK's military since those kinds of info are classified in every country. Still, we know that they are currently working on a nuclear missile that can't reach American soil, but can still reach anywhere in South Korean and maybe Guam.

I'm afraid so with their military might and a crazy dictator. It's a shame!

According to the world military strength ranking, South Korea is the 12th most powerful military while North Korea is the 20th most powerful.

Our formula provides for a good disparity between North and South Korea, placing South well-ahead of the North thanks to better infrastructure and capital.

Good answer! However, what if China joined NK and the US joined SK?

If China took arms against S. Korea, it would force the US' hand. Our democracy wouldn't stand for that level of injustice, every representative's re-election would depend on them supporting war.

We have over 50 submarines with more nuclear power than every other country on the earth combined, including the former Soviet Union. We wouldn't even need to use them though. Our current military is the highest trained on earth. Forces of less than 20 regularly defeat forces of over 100 in every conflict since Vietnam. We have enough drones to blanket half of China without a single soldier from the Marines or Army setting foot on foreign soil.

The problem with fighting terrorism is you cannot simply desroy a country. However this would not be terrorism, we would be free to use our military without angering the rest of Western society.

China may be complete asses to their people, but they are not stupid. If asked to side with us or N. Korea, they would side with us.

Side: yes

HA! I would like to see them try. South Korea has better infrastructure, is more technologically advanced, and their military is better equipped.

Of course there are those who would ask "Well, what if China joined North Korea?" If China joined NK, then we would join SK. Once we would join SK, China would back down because we are one of their biggest trading partners and China gets more revenue from us than it does from NK. It wouldn't make economic sense for China to oppose us.

It's tempting to wish for this. Next to Ill, Sadam was a saint. S. Korea would destroy them, it would be like if Canada tried to attack the US (difference being Canada is actually pretty cool, just as a military comparison). Unfortunately tons of innocent people would die in the process, so hopefully N. Korea quits being insane assholes.

As a note, they always do these missile drills when it's time to re-organize their various trade deals. They're a bunch of children crying for their allowance. At some point they should be taken care of, but wait till their 18 at least, they're just dumb kids pouting right now.

Plus our allies:

France 4th Strongest military

Britain 5th Strongest

Japan 6th Strongest

Germany 8th

Then consider who would side with N. Korea and China (though China wouldn't side w/ them to start with)

Maybe Russia, okay 2nd strongest military, but if the cold war is any indication, their power is overstated.

Iran? Nope, they need us to buy their oil. Hate if you want Iran, they're not going to bitch slap their pimp. Plus they're not even rated, they're miltary is only good at supressing their own people and their tiny neighbors.

Pakistan is the 15th most powerful military. Depending what happens in Afghanistan they may see some gain in siding with China. However, they are ranked high because of their nuclear power, and their missiles can't reach S. Korea.

I'm having touble coming up with more allies for N. Korea.

But it doesn't matter. The US has a more powerful military by comparison for the time, than even the Roman Empire at its hight. We have the strongest economy (yes, even now with our deficit), we produce the most and hold the most debt (yes even now with the deficit), and we have the most cash, military, and weapons on-hand.

Luckily we're a democracy, and not some corporate owned entity or totalitarian government. Great example of human evolution.
