Even people from the ancient world who hated Jesus have written about him. Jesus being a real person has been documented by more people then the emperor who reigned when Jesus was alive. In all honesty this type of debate is not even entertained among scholors. Even the most Christian hating atheists admit that Jesus existed. Also, his crucifixion is the most documented event in all ANCIENT history. Having said that, modern history (I guess from 1700 on) is documented way more than ancient history (christianity/Jesus/Mohammed/Alexander The Great, etc.). So the existance of Ben Franklin, George Washington, etc. is WAY more credible than the existance of Jesus. But if you study the proof of ancient history the existance of Jesus is more credible than anybody else (Julius Ceasar, Sparticus, Aristotle, etc.). If you are a person who studies historical documentation this is literally a simple fact and not even a matter of opinion. Doesn't matter if you like or hate Jesus Side: No
Before I wrote my comment above I double-checked by making an overview of the metarecords of Jesus. The majority of accounts and records make up the canon of the bible and the apocrypha. The rest seemed arguable, certainly not iron clad or indisputible. The only eye-witness accounts that I found were the biblical canon itself, and it turns out those were written decades after the alleged fact. This is why I think it entirely possible that Christianity was forged from a prophet who never was. Side: yes
