DO YOU FEAR DEATH?

YES

I fear the manner in which I die.

If I die with a gun to my head.. then I won't fear it.

But if I'm crossing the street and some crazy car runs me over. Hellll no!! It's not even worth it.

If I was a vegetable I'd ask my parents to pull the plug.

If I had a woman and children and died trying to protect them.. then I don't fear it.

I only fear it as an accident rather than fate.

If you die in the hands of terrorist, you must be proud to sacrifice u r life for your great nation! But if you end up with werewolves, they will just rip u off! Not even a single part can be differentiated like that easily! so better die in your sleep with out pain and strain!

I'm not obsessively afraid of death right now, like "I could die at any moment! ;_;", but I am a little afraid of death in the perspective that I'm only 18 and I have my whole life ahead of me. It would really suck it I got hit by a bus or something. o.O

Side: yes

Yes I do fear dying...but it's more the manner in which I die that does it for me. No long lingering, painful illness do I seek. Just a quiet death in the night will suit me perfectly.

Well one of my favorite quotes,

"I was dead for millions of years before I was born and it never inconvenienced me a bit." - Mark Twain

That said though, it would be ridiculous to not be afraid of death, since in many cases that is what keeps us alive.

If I wasn't afraid of death in the least, would I hesitate to jump out of a plane without a parachute simply for the joy of free-fall?

Why not? not like there's time to feel pain when you hit the ground. I believe that frame of mind would be a fast track to human extinction.

The difference is I can imagine, think, feel, and miss right now.

None of those were possible when I was dead the first time.

Of course though, after the fact I will again be unaware, but it's the suspense that kills you ;)

If you were fucking your girl friend and then you get heart attack due to excess adrenaline secretion, you will really feel very bad that you failed to completely do it!

Yes, I fear death. I fear death because I am afraid there is only darkness and nothing else. I am afraid that that will be the end of my soul or being. I am afraid that everything I worked hard for will mean nothing because I will die before I can fully enjoy it. I also as some have stated fear the method of death.

No, death will be easy. It's the part right before you die that I fear. I don't want to suffer, I want it to be quick. That's all I ask from God, well not really all I ask. That's all I ask concerning death.

Side: No

You're right. There's nothing to be afraid of. All I ask is that I don't go alone. When I go, I want to be able to say, "No, please, you go first. I'll be right here behind you" ;)

Ha. I laugh in the face of death. We all die one day, and I know my final destination -- Do you?

Your final destination is the ground!

We should not be afraid of anything that is unknown, if there is anything we will find out in due time. If there is nothing, we won't know, we will not be aware that we no longer exist, there is nothing to fear because we cannot be afraid.

No why would you even think of death.

The minimum length for an argument is 50 characters. The purpose of this restriction is to cut down on the amount of dumb jokes, so we can keep the quality of debate and discourse as high as possible.

Death itself is something I don't fear, but fearing the grief that develops within those who care for you is something entirely different.

Side: No

Death is imminent, why fear what you cannot escape. The sooner you stop worrying about it, you can move on with your life. re-reading that sounds funny, but my point is valid

Besides, in Irish Mythology the general belief is that death is really just a transition into your REAL life, that you have a better life to live after you die! Thats why Irish Funerals are so happy!

No death is essayer than life and plus you get to meet God!!!!!!!!!

Side: No

Nope. Everyone dies, everything dies; what matters is doing as much stuff as you can BEFORE you die.

I accepted that when I was roughly 5 years old. It's just enjoying life to its fullest which matters.

What is there to be afraid of? Everyone dies. Even if you die in a painful way it won't matter because you'll be dead soon. What I fear is other people dying. People that I'm close too.

Side: NO

too true. However, if those other people around you die, then they will not care less, for they will too be dead. I see it as, there was a time before i was alive, and there will be a time, after i have died. I still agree with what you have said tough!

I don't fear death because I know where I am going after I die and that is Heaven, but sometimes I have a moment where I don't know where I will go when I die because I don't want to go to hell and I want to go to heaven rather then going to a horrible place to suffer. But I think I will go to heaven if I keep believing in Jesus Christ.
