there is nothing wrong at all with ANY of the newer bible versions, including the NIV or the Living Bible, or my personal favorite, the NRSV. as long as a certain version of the bible can make it easier for somebody in the Faith to read it and understand it and come into the Word of God, i dont see a problem. besides, even with your King James version you are just reading an old translation. And one that you have NO WAY of knowing is accurate! You only rely that it is, because you were taught that. You were NOT there when the orignal scrolls were set to papyrus scrolls, some 3500 years ago--for the OT. And some 2000 years ago for the NT. even then, the bible was first in Hebrew, then Greek, Aramaic (for Jesus, since he spoke that dialect)..and then Latin, and then German (from Luther) and THEN finally...English. plus with the Septuagint we had 70 Greek scholars (alleged scholars, who is to say, really?) transcribe it. then the RCC has the Latin Vulgate. also....sigh....all of these words were not put down on papyrus even the FIRST time before they had been passed on orally for decades. Decades! so...for Jesus, the first Gospel written was Mark. even though the bible puts Matthew first. So Mark was written about 35 years AFTER JC died. This is like you sitting down tonight and writing about a guy who conducted a brief 3-year ministry back in the 1980s! Gee, do ya think a word or two might have been lost in Translation? So, again, all this bolsters my point about how there is nothing wrong with any of today's newer versions. Quit creating paper tigers to fight. So now I have presented a pretty accurate history of bible translations and why I think today's versions are fine, if they help people read them. now I challenge you (again!) to tell me where I am wrong, instead of just saying something like "all those fake bibles are evil and only for satanists." which is they way you normally reply. that is to say, you retort not with facts and explanation and by citing specifics, but only with groundless and prejudiced blanket condemnations. again....tell me I am wrong. Jesus Christ conquered death and will save all who believe on Him. Since you prefer death over live, it's all you will ever have. And for blaspheming God, you are banned. You are on your way to Hell and if you don't get saved, nothing will change that fact. You have one foot in the grave and the other on thin ice melting over the fire of Hell, so high falute all you can until you prove nothing changes the fact that you are dead in your sin now. Fool. Did you love any of the people you've ever known who died, and did you think it was a great thing that they were taken away from you by death? It's hard for me to believe you are that loveless. You say you are not dying to try it (death). but you are dying to try it, you're trying it now....trying to go slowly I guess, which is good, but it's all you have, it consumes everything you are and all you have and may finalize that consummation in a moment.....and before that moment comes, you need to be sure you have eternal life in heaven and not eternal dying like you are dying now in the Lake of Fire as a sinner who has gone against God. Thanks for your comments, good comments, and I really hope you get to enjoy your retirement money..........I know of better things, much better, than enjoying retirement money and those things will make you far richer than mountains of money if they are yours Side: I love God, I hate death

what is death if the soul survives it? Bodily death is not the enemy. it's not even an entity that could be rebelled against. as the soul is the only part of us that matters. - Somthing somthing... we await our glorious bodies....blah blah. see phillipians 3:21 - all the immortality that god promises is giving us a new shell. if that's the case, then bodily death is a byproduct of recieving a new and "Glorious" body. this shell will die. no reason to ban you, I was vague in the OP and titles of opposing views to encourage comments and they are welcome as long as they show some desire to remain on topic. Notice these things in the simple wording of the debate. Death VS Life.........they are two separate things, and what do you have? Do you have death, or do you have life? If you have life, then you can't be dying or you have dying and you don't have life. Life is not dying, dying is not life. And yes, bodily death is the enemy, caused by sin, it's the curse of death and it's our enemy trying to keep us out of life. No, it cannot be rebelled against (though some whackos like Demon Hunter seem to think they have rebelled against it and won). The soul is not the only part of us that matters, our bodies will be with us forever. In Hell people will have some kind of physical bodies with teeth that they gnash in anguish and flesh which feels the heat of the fire, eyes that weep, a mouth and lungs which will wail....after the final judgement, their dead bodies will be reunited with their bodies in Hell. Our bodies are measured in time and every moment of our time counts, our bodies really do matter. None of the promises of God apply to you if you have not received Jesus Christ in person as your Savior. You have to get a new spirit from God, born of His Holy Spirit to be like Jesus to have a new body like His resurrected body free of pain and death. I would not say you hate God because you are not being closed minded. I would not say you love God because I really don't think you know Him yet, but maybe you will before it's too late. I know Him for real through Jesus Christ who lives in me and is my life. You can know Him, you can know God's love for real, and knowing His love will cause you to love Him and change your desires as your time is counted down. Thanks for your comments. I asked you before to use King James Bible only in my discussions. I'm very serious about it for good reasons. I'll have to put you on the auto ban list if you wont' honor my request, agreeing with me on the issue of God's word preserved and given to us in English, or disagreeing on that issue.....if you agree or not, you can still honor my request for my discussions and use quote the Bible only as the King James Bible. The Vaticanus is considered to be the most authoritative, although it is responsible for over thirty-six thousand changes that appear today in the new versions. This perverted manuscript contains the books of the pagan Apocrypha, which are not scripture; it omits the pastoral epistles (I Timothy through Titus), the Book of Revelation, and it cuts off the Book of Hebrews at Hebrews 9:14 (a very convenient stopping point for the Catholic Church, since God forbids their priesthood in Hebrews 10!).
