Democrats worry about the right's of boys going in girls bathrooms, but the right of life?

The irony of course is that those claiming to be championing the children's privacy are the very ones obsessing over children's genitals. If they could point to some serious problem of people pretending to be the other gender to sneak into bathrooms then that's one thing. If they could explain how they could possibly enforce this without being borderline pedophiles, checking the genitals of any overly masculine girl or overly feminine boy, then that might lend even a little bit of legitimacy. But they can't. And so they stand around shouting and obsessing over kids genitals. "Think of the children" indeed. 1

First, this isn't simply about Democrats. A wide swath of the American public fall all around on this subject, including Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. Second, the hysteria over genders and bathrooms has yet to produce proof of an epidemic of bad behaviors. Transgender people have been around and using the bathroom for as long as there have been people on the earth. You're woefully short on proving real risk and harm here. Third, right to life is a whole separate topic already debated ad nauseum but to summarize - the fetus does not have civil rights (founding fathers never mentioned them; Supreme Court ruled in favor of abortion), the pregnant woman does have civil rights, biologically lots and lots of pregnancies don't make it full term - the loss of life for natural reasons way outstrips the loss by personal choice, and support for choice is spread all across the political spectrum. |
