Did Robert Francis O'rourke really say this

When asked by ABC moderator David Muir to confirm that he planned to mandate that Americans sell their guns, the former Texas congressman responded, “hell yes.”

“We’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We’re not going to allow it to be used against our fellow Americans anymore,” O’Rourke said.

Add New Argument

There is nothing you can do Outlaw, we are going to take your guns. Only the state should be allowed to have guns. Gone are the days of hunting and fishing and shooting children in the face, everyone will be forced to live on a diet of soy and GMO corn flakes provided by the government and the closest thing you will get to wild game is carbon neutral lab grown meat from a state funded laboratory. You will live in a giant smart-city and we will track your every move. We will technocratically dictate in a most governmentally liberal fashion what color socks you wear and what you have for breakfast.

"and shooting children in the face"

Yeah that's part of the problem.

The 2nd Amendment was written to create a militia in the absence of a standing army.

Let's do a thought experiment.

No standing army, but every household is armed. That's a good idea. Hence the 2nd Amendment, using privately owned guns for the defense of the country.

But we do have a standing army. And privately owned arms aren't used for national defense. Instead, they are a public safety hazard.

I suggest something, buy a gun, turn it in to your national guard armory, and there you can check it in and out like a library book to shoot on their range. But you cannot leave the premises with it.

That's pretty far from a good idea. That's a candidate for worst idea in the recorded history of ideas.

I agree completely.

I suggest something, buy a gun, turn it in to your national guard armory, and there you can check it in and out like a library book to shoot on their range. But you cannot leave the premises with it.

I wouldn't have much of an issue with that.

Can you explain what government laboratory Robert Francis O' Rourke evolved from.

Dems, the party of taking your guns away; that bodes well for Republicans in 2020.

Is it really a wise decision for a Democrat presidential candidate to make such an insane statement.
