Did you read your Holy Book?

I'm curious to see how many people have actually read the Holy Book of their religion (The Bible, The Vedas, the Old Testament, the Qu'ran, etc.).  When answering, please say which religion you believe in and why you did or didn't read the book (especially if you didn't).

In Buddhism we have many holy scriptures, I have read some of them although many of them are long and hard to follow without commentaries.

I try to. I have this cute little New King James Version Bible, but my learning problems make it hard to focus.

Side: Yes

I've read the holy book of the religion I was raised in, as well as numerous holy books from other religions.

Like it or hate it, have faith or not, I think we all should be familiar with all of these. Religion has and continues to have a huge impact on most spheres of life, and as such are extremely valuable even if only for historical and sociological reasons.

Side: Yes

Only when a page flaps open and I catch a glimmer of a verse, before I toss it into the fire.

Unfortunately atheism doesn't have a Holy Book, so no. I never read anything that my religion (or lack thereof) required me to. I have read skims and excerpts of some of the religions that have one.

Hell! I didn't even know I had one?
