Do African Americans act as though they are still owed a debt for their enslaved
First I'll give some facts:
Average age in most of Africa: 33-50
Common ailments - Jiggers, malaria, HIV
Clean water? Not much
Aren't they better of in America, even if their ancestors paid the price with slavery?
Note that I do not wish to become controversial, I simply want facts and opinions.
Next argument: Were slaves better off in America than as free men in Africa?

Whilst I understand the lack of freedom, they were fed and given clothing, they were helped when they were sick, the children played with the masters children. I read parts of a diary of a girl from the time of the Civil War, that is how she described her daily condition. She and her sister even set up a 'school' to teach the children to read and write. There seems to be this assumption that the people of Africa were all holding hands in harmony while living happy and peaceful lives before the cruel and evil white people came to snatch them away to go work on some plantation across the ocean. The truth is that the Africans were nowhere near as innocent as society thinks they were. Millions of the slaves sent to the Americas were actually originally slaves in Africa where slavery is still practiced there TODAY in some places. But to answer your question, it is better to be poor and unemployed in America then to be poor and unemployed in Africa. 1
