If your consciousness can time travel, then so must your body or some other vessel for your consciousness. Since most methods of time travel would entail forces which the human body can't withstand you might have to transmit your consciousness using a vessel which may be impossible without destroying it and producing a mere copy. How does information fit the materialist view of the universe ? Information doesn't exist you chicken fingerer. There's no magical intangible thing called information, it's called sensory input from your environment entering your brain. The electromagnetic waves and oscillations in the atmosphere that cause you to see and hear are not "information" just because they are entering your puny brain, they are merely information to you because you are perceiving them.
