The United States and China are wedged in a catch 22 position. America depends on China for cheap goods while China depends on the U.S. to buy those cheap goods for their economic prosperity. The US is a major consumer, China is a major producer. The U.S. loses because of comparative advantage. The U.S. could never produce the goods at the costs that China's produces. If the U.S. would, prices would skyrocket. If one or the other would default on this arrangement, the U.S. and China economy would be in serious trouble, and the world. Side: No
We are in a recession. The Wallstreet Occupiers blame corporations, while others blame welfare; nevertheless, we are ALL at fault. Each and every one of us. What could we do as an American whole, as many of our needed jobs have gone overseas? It should be a no-brainer; we need to boycott China. This will put millions of jobs back in America when factories realize we can do something about it, and when they realize that we can make a large cut in their profit. Maybe they will take they're corporations back to their homeland. Either way, we don't need to lose potential investment money to a product that breaks after several uses. Also, our children can't afford to eat toxins and perform at a national level. Yes, the active ingredient in antifreeze is also found in %3.5 of our toothpaste, imported from China. (Yes kids, go brush your teeth so you can be healthy!) And the Chinese need to do something with their banned antibiotics- why not put it in the food supply shipped to America?! They'll buy it anyway. :) Side: yes
US should consider importing from countries which support them and help those countries to manufacture goods with cheap cost. By doing so, they can gradually stop importing from China as China is using money to enhance its Airforce and missile capabilities against America. The United States imports many great things from China. I don't think that the United States should stop importing things from China because we would lose a lot of choices the we have now on products. China also owns...only about...798.9 billion dollars of U.S debt (That's right! I said billion.). If we stopped importing then they may stop buying our debt. Side: No

No, because despite my disparity towards the China/America economical issue that would be taking far too much control over our economy. I think that instead the social and moral issues over slave-wage Chinese products should be brought further to the forefront of the American public, and hopefully at least more of them will realize what a terrible system it is currently. How is that racist, race has nothing to do with this argument. True story: My sister got a Chevy Cobalt in December 2006. About 1 month later many parts were beginning to fall apart: the button to open the sunroof fell out, the seats started to crack and chip, and she started having trouble with the gear lever. She now has a Honda Accord. If America ever decides to make better products then we will begin to buy them, but until they do we will continue buying things from other countries. Side: yes
Just take this truth, many commonly-seen things were invented in China. For example, paper which is one of the useful things was invented in China, silk which is able to turn into clothes, was invented in China. And there're also a lot of useful modern gadgets that are made in China. For example: look at the back of an iphone, you'll see "assemble in China". Isn't this shock? You'll probably be thinking that "oh shit, I've bought a fake iphone!" But no, every iphone are assembled in China. Even computers are made in China! There're also few famous Chinese-branded electronic gadgets that could be found in US markets. Now tell me, could we live on a world without China? Side: No
