Its safer than the vast majority of websites, and allows you to customize your privacy settings quite comprehensively. To say that Facebook is not safe is to use the word 'safe' in such a semantic way that you could never say that anything is safe: there is an inherent risk in everything, and Facebook has a much lower risk than the vast majority of things in life. 354 days ago | Side: It's Secure
Regarding predators (pedophiles, stalkers, other malicious people), it's perfectly safe when used properly. I loathe complaints about how dangerous a social network site can be because most of it is really at the responsibility/fault of it's users. Regulate your privacy settings, control who can see your information (profile and posts), who you talk to and who you accept as a friend. You have no right to complain when you accept anyone as a friend, give out personal information to strangers and/or have your profile public. As for hackers and trackers, it's the same as any website. 354 days ago | Side: It's Secure

You're correct, there's no doubt. So, when something (Facebook) causes harm (pedophiles), we must see if the good outweighs the bad. It does. Facebook connects 900 million people brilliantly. Without it, the world would actually take a turn for the worse. Think about all of the companies that advertise on it. All of the people that have invested in its stock. What you said is like me saying, "Vans with shaded windows may be used as a platform for unsafe things, such as pedophiles." 355 days ago | Side: It's Secure

Facebook can be safe when used responsibly, when used irresponsibly anything can be unsafe, and Facebook is no exception. For example a toothbrush could be unsafe if you stab someone with it. However Facebook is used irresponsibly often, and I think that the world would be safer without it. 355 days ago | Side: It's Not Secure

No, even though I don't think people will ever hack into my account, I would not trust facebook with my information. I would not say anything on the private chat or on my wall that could ever incriminate me for anything. I would not post anything I want my boss or company to see. I am careful with information, because I know that if the government reaaaally wanted a peak, they would get my info in a second. 327 days ago | Side: It's Not Secure
