Do children use the saying "i love you" too much (without really meaning it)

I have been seeing kids in middleschool and highschool saying this and they dont even know if they mean it. Alot of people say this and they just think the words are meaningless that they have no real meaning.

Kind of, it loses it's meaning when people use it too much. Which some kids do.

I believe they do, the words I love you have completely lost its meaning. I seen young teenagers who have been in relationship for about a week saying how much they love their partner, yes I understand you may have liked them for a long time but isn't it a bit too early? I just think you should wait some time, I mean maybe I'm old fashioned but love is the definition of "deep affection" I don't think young people should be throwing that around

Side: Yes

I think its fair to say that kids may have much looser definitions of what constitutes "love" than adults generally will. Also, love means different things to many people to begin with. I think they usually mean it when they say it, they just use the word differently than you do.

You can give a teenager a car and they will say I love you since that is the expected response. You can give a child a muffin and they will say what is expected. I think children are almost conditioned to give certain responses from receiving something, and of course this depends on what the parent expects.

What does 'meaning it' actually mean?

In any regards, I don't here enough to believe it's said 'too much'.
