So long as the government continues to misappropriate SS funds for other uses, SS is doomed. Putting more money into it would simply mean more money can be misused. The problem isn't funding.

That being said, a flat tax would be better for all taxes including SS. At least until we have a privatized alternative.

As always, Liberals want to steal from people who worked hard and were successful, and give to the irresponsible people who were lazy, irresponsible and non successful.

First of all, those Rich people whose SS taxes are only on a certain amount of their income, are only given the same money back based on that amount. They are getting back what they paid into the system. That is only fair to thinking people who are not socialist control fanatics.

If we went to flat tax system, that I have no problem with, you must now give back much more retirement money to Rich retirees based on what they paid into the system.

The other poster was 100% correct when he said that Liberals destroyed the SS when they made it possible to use SS funds for other social programs. The lives of Democrats and the Left is spent taking as much money as possible from where ever they can take it to spend buying votes from those they pander to.
