Do right wingers think being called right wingers is an epithet?
Hello:
I
do use that phrase to describe my political opponents.. And, they have
their pet phrases to describe me. However, I detect that offense is
taken when I use the right winger word. Should I stop?
The common meaning of the word epithet is an adjective or phrase expressing a quality or attribute regarding the characteristic of the person or subject in question.
The phase ''lion hearted'' is an epithet of Richard the first.
In the same vein ''Iron'' is an epithet of Mike Tyson.
So, in this context I'm sure all proud Republicans would feel highly complimented to have their political persuasion described as an epithet.
On the other side of the coin an epithet can be be used as a term of abuse and/or hostility, such as the word ''dirty'' can, unfairly, be an epithet for old men.
If you use the word ''Republican'' as a derogatory epithet to describe members of a political party with whose dogma you disagree then I'm sure they'd object and return the ''epithet'' in kind.
When I spilled my blood in Vietnam, NOBODY asked if I was a liberal or not. That you think right wingers are the ONLY defenders of this great land is WRONG, IGNORANT, and HIGHLY OFFENSIVE..
I was in the Navy.. The Navy doesn't draft. I joined on May 2, 1960, three days after my 17th birthday... In case you're keeping track, I'm gonna BE 74 this Saturday.. What are you trying to prove, that I'm LYING??? Why doncha just say so?? Wanna see my birth certificate? Wanna see my DD-214???
That you doubt a liberal would FIGHT for this country, says MORE about you than it does me..
But you said No, it was JFK that got you into war and now you say you were not drafted but you joined the Navy. How did JFK get you into war if you joined the Navy. Was it JFK's fault.
Pay attention.. This ISN'T hard.. I ENLISTED into the Navy in 1960. JFK started the war in Vietnam in 1963. My ship was ordered to go, and I went.. What's so hard to understand about that? I didn't complain about anybody "GETTING" me into war. I JOINED the military, WILLINGLY, KNOWING what it IS and what it DOES..
Here's another thing you're NOT gonna like.. Before I went to Vietnam, my ship was IN the blockade of Cuba. We were a hairs breath from nuclear war.. I SAT on that wall protecting you when you were probably still in diapers.. I DID it, so you'd have the RIGHT to call me a liar. I'd do it again, too. You're WELCOME!
JFK was killed in November of 1963 but as history shows November 1, 1955 – April 30, 1975 was the era of the Vietnam War. Was it 1955 or 1963. What wall did you SAT on.
Coulda been the Gulf of Tonken incident which happened in 1964.. Look.. I'm done with you. If you wanna think I'm a left wing pansy that went to Canada to avoid the draft, that's fine with me.. But, I'm not gonna debate history with you..
By the way, you haven't told me where YOU spilled your blood protecting this great country..
On September 16, 1940, the United States instituted the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940, which required all men between the ages of 21 and 45 to register for the draft.Only the Navy doesn't draft but all other arms of the military do.
It's true for a couple reasons, and being more patriotic than liberals is NOT one of them. First and foremost, unemployment is LOW in the cities where lbs live, and it's HIGH in the heartland where conservatives live.
But, more importantly, when I went into the Navy, I was 17, and didn't know left wing from right.. All I knew is that I was gonna sail the world and screw a lot of chicks.. My shipmates from the heartland weren't any more politically astute than I was.
Nope. That isn't us kneeling during the National Anthem, burning the flag, shutting down speaking events with force, or allying politically with a religious group commanded to destroy us in the Quran. That's your clan...remember? I'm pretty sure the founding fathers would kick the tailend of every leftist they met. They were way further right than modern day Conservatism. Sell gay marriage to Washington and Adams. Trump wasn't willing to die in the anti gay trench. We really just don't care on the issue. Protect Americans, gay or straight.
Nope. That isn't us kneeling at the National Anthem, burning the flag, shutting down non-liberal speaking events with force, attacking cops, demonizing the military, and allying politically with a religion commande to destroy us in the Quran. That's your clan. Remember?

And besides, the left turned a blind eye when Obama crumpled the Constitution.
I'm sorry.. I thought you were informed... Both coasts have recovered from the Bush depression quite nicely, thank you very much.. In my city alone there are 50 huge rig cranes constructing new buildings downtown. The stock market is BOOMING. NY City is BOOMING. Miami is BOOMING. Both end of this country are BOOMING..
Not, in the middle, though.. Those factories are CLOSED and not likely to re-open even under Trump..
So, if YOU were a poor farm boy in Osh Kosh, Wi, and you COULDN'T find work cause there's no jobs, the military is ALWAYS hiring..
When I spilled my blood in Vietnam, NOBODY asked if I was a liberal or not. That you think right wingers are the ONLY defenders of this great land is WRONG, IGNORANT, and HIGHLY OFFENSIVE
You put it in play so i ask again JFK put you into the Vietnam War and not LBJ.
Of course, you think any liberal with accomplishments is a liar.. It just doesn't fit your pictures... But, that's cool.. Remind me NOT to tell you about my successful business. That'll really piss you off...
To your point, I DON'T remember how much gas was in '67. I DO remember when it was a quarter.. Phone calls were a nickel and so were Cokes....
Pay attention.. I KNOW what an epithet is, but I was wondering if RIGHT WINGERS thought that when I called them right wingers, that I was hurling an epithet at them... I didn't think my question was so confusing.. However, if you NEED further explanation, don't hesitate to ask.... I'm here to serve..
But hark my warning - the USA will continue to polarize and slip into disfunction due to practices such as this one. Is it worth it? Or is it better to take the high road from time to time and speak to them like people instead of our stereotypes of who we think they are?
