I'm going to interpret this question as "should the cops want people to have guns?" Most definately, yes. Police are not legally obligated to put themselves in harms way to prevent crimes. An increase in armed citizens allows a greater likelihood of preventing crimes and letting the cops do their real job of cleaning up messes. Imagine if a handful of people had guns during the mass shooting in Texas. Side: YES, they do
