The Republicans have better fiscal responsibility which wipes out the things you listed. What you listed are also disadvantages sometimes. If you think everyone thinks like you because you are brainwashed by the media you might be less motivated to come up with good reasons to be voted for.

If it is anything like Australia the balance of power is dependent upon who the public vote for to be their member in parliament and this can create a majority rule or a government that has to depend upon the support of independents and smaller parties to gain the majority to rule. There have been occasions when the balance of power has been held by a single person, usually an independent.
