Do the ends justify the means?

I dont really know where i stand on this one, on the one hand, depopulating the earth so that we dont ruin our species in the long run is not necessarily bad... but then again its not necassarily good... But if we keep at the rate we are going, our society is going to collapse upon itself...

What do you think?

No way . A person's life is the utmost essential asset . There , more often than not , are solutions outrun problems , right ? I've gut to address that very soon human is going out of this long-dependant Mother Earth - into the outter space . At that very moment , the topic that we are more concern is , "Is there enough human resource to cope with the expense of colonization of the neighbouring planets , to unleash the mines within ? "

For now , skyscrappers will be an excellent method in tackling this issue .

Side: No

I am going to have to say no, I was just watching this documentary and it got me to thinking about the future of our species because if we collapse our resources we wont be able to get into outer space to colonize, but if we exhaust so many resources that we start dying off by the masses, I guess it will teach us not to have so many children and overconsume everything and focus more on keeping the environment we live in more sustainable, not that it already isnt sustainable enough, but we are overcrowding it.

Earth was never meant to be colonized the way we have colonized it, we are animals at our core, sure, we have imagination, but we use it in a very poor fashion, and its becoming a major problem. And we dont even use our imagination anymore, we just go along with what we are told is the best course of action.

Dont get me wrong, technology isnt good or bad, but we rely on technology too much.

Side: No

I don' think the ends justify the means. Overpopulation can be controlled by extensive birth control education.

Yes. The romantic theory that people will heed advice and discipline themselves to a predetermined, sustainable number of children is nothing more than dangerous naivety. Clearly, the ultimate goal is the survival of mankind, but man's ingenuity and misguided compassion has thwarted the natural laws of 'survival of the species' by controlling the self destructive population explosion of our species. Our own resourcefulness and ill-considered benevolence will be the cause of the extinction of the human race. Epidemics, which in the past would have decimated the earth's population have been stemmed long before they can cause any meaningful reduction in the population, and those races which have ceased to be able to look after themselves in the modern world are being kept alive artificially by the imprudent interference of the sanctimonious brigade.
