What about really nice hobos?

Side: Yes

People were mean to hobos. Homeless people deserve much much more.

Side: Yes

Being mean gets you no friends. Having no friends means having no one to talk to.

Having no one to talk to about certain things can make you feel lonly.

Being mean gets you enemies. Enemies will try their best to get you down.

Always trying to fight back to keep them from getting you down will make you stressed.

Getting to stressed can lead to cancer or weakness in your immune system which makes you more susceptible to disease.

Stress can cause a lot of problems. Overeating uncontrollable emotion/rage. It can make your thoughts hard to process and it makes things harder to figure out.

Etc.

No good deed goes unpunished. Nice guys finish last. There are so many quotes that say that this is not true. Most if the time it is the exact opposite: if you are mean, then you will have success in this life, and if you are nice, then you will have misery in this life.

I think being good or bad are high social constructs. There is no good or bad. There is only self and the others. Every act of ours is for the benefit of ourselves or to serve the 'conscience,' which is again for self satisfaction- high social construct.

Its the survival of the fittest. Not survival of the best man alive.

I am with Abby on this one. Sometimes you need to take what is yours and demand obedience.

Much like the debate "Do bad things happen to good people all too often" this debate too is implying that things happen for a reason or with some divine purpose in mind. They don't. As such doing good won't ensure good things happen to you, and the same with doing evil.

Hell for one an example (or millions) exist of good people suffering and bad people thriving.

For two, morality meaning 'good' and or 'evil' are not constants. They are subjective so what's to say that good people don't have good happening to them, when they kill a cat they get rewarded with prison.
