Do you believe in Karma?

The total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny. (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/karma)
In the simplest form Karma = action + reaction.
I.e. You call somebody an idiot, he slaps you. Action and reaction.
Or You're a dick to your parents your whole life and then when you get kids, they're dicks to you :D
It is a universal term, but when used with Hinduism it also includes the Karm accumilated over more than one lifetime.
Your own opinion on Karma is probably accurate so I'm not here to create a definition as it's a lot more complex than that... but for those who are brainwashed by religious definitions or for those who do not know what it is.
So.. what are your thoughts?

Different religious beliefs have different ways of coping with things that they dont immediately comprehend. Some would call it an act of god, some would call it act of satan and so on; whether these are true or not, is not as important as the fact that it bypasses - successfully - the stumbling block of reason. Human beings always fear the unknown, and want to know why a thing is happening or has happened, so that they can avoid the repetition of those bad happenings in their lives if possible, and it is here that such ideas as karma etc., help a person get over his fears. Having attributed his misfortunes to karma, he proceeds with his life. Incidentally, karma is about action-reaction not only in this life, but even extends to your previous form of life, which may or may not have been a human form. In order to attain salvation, you ought to have squared all the actions-reactions over your several lives. Yes, I believe in karma, else I would never be able to carry on with my life when things go against me. Side: yes
It's probably one of the only things I do believe in. I've seen it work. Maybe that's just me with my voodoo mind powers projecting myself onto someone else or a bitter taste of irony in cases of bad karma on my part. Whatever it is, there's one universal truth: "What comes around goes around." Side: yes

Karma is just a term for what 'usually' naturally takes place. action mayb be punching someone reaction would be them punching you back. Plus when you do something questionably bad like smash someone's car window for fun and running off, you don't always get caught. You feel guilty but gladly this so called 'Karma" doesn't bite you on the arse Side: No

Anything bad that may happen to you later in your life is a result of karma. So if you smash someone's car window for fun and in the future someday somebody hits you in the face for fun... it's the result of karma. Well... if you believe in it.. Side: yes
no. if you look at all the evil things that america, japan, and europe has done to the world throughout history, you will notice that nothing bad has really come back on them. in fact, you will notice that they are prospering. there is nothing that says nice guys finish last better than these examples.
