Theres this one hobo in my town and he asked for money all day annd then he dosnt even use it for food and he just buys cigarrets all day and i think its a big wast but some of the homless will probablly use it for good
ur totally right ....................................although......................................homeless deserve money.....i gave one guy...he was aboriginal, and we saw were he went....with his mates and guess what....they were all smoking and drinking bottles and more bottles of ALCAHOL so im in doubt with them of course
I love to know that i am doing a right thing for a stranger. You might not know what they do with the money, but it is a good thing. When ever me and my mom drive and whe see a homeless i always tell to give atleast a little bit of money she has left.
yea i would give money to a hobo. I mean there are people in the world that are less fortunate than us. I don't think it is right to take advantage of things that we have.
Sometimes I give money, when I have it. Not all homeless people are in that situation because of drugs, a lot are people just like you or me. The last homeless man I gave a dollar to said he wanted to buy a grape soda. I watched him walk into the store, and what did he come out with? A grape soda. So not all are liars either. I think people who ignore the homeless are ignorant twits. Indifference is the greatest evil on this planet.
Also, another thing to take into consideration, a lot of homeless are mentally handicapped and are not able to work or find work, so telling them to get a job is ignorance. America shouldn't have homeless people, there should be more programs aimed at making sure all people here have homes.
So, do you call all people that disagree with you "ignorant twits"? Sorry but just because some people don't think it's a good idea to give cash to the homeless doesn't make them ignorant twits....
Of course it does, especially when you give your excuses. They may sound like reasonable excuses, but when you break it down, it's all ignorance. People like to view the homeless as lesser beings who are there because they are lazy, drug addicts, etc. What people fail to realize is that most people become homeless because of circumstances. The homeless are no different than you or I. One day you may be homeless, and maybe then you will realize why I think people like you are ignorant twits.
You are very ignorant calling others ignorant just proves that.
On the subject some people don't give them money maybe because they themselves live check by check and can't afford to even spare a dollar. Maybe they don't because they see what they are doing. Maybe they do try to help the homeless like telling them where to go for food or shelter but the homeless won't go there, then what?
There are many reasons why people do what they do that doesn't make them ignorant.
Well you proved my point with your continuing with the name calling... most homeless are druggies and drunks, you can't make up your own statistics... it wouldn't surprise me if you did turn up homeless at some point as you are one ignorant, fucking twit!
The largest social demographic in first world countries that experiences homelessness are actually elderly people. Why don't you educate yourself before spouting your ignorant dribble? POVERTY is the number one cause for homelessness, Eroding Work Opportunities is second. The declining value and availability of public assistance is another source of increasing poverty and homelessness. A lack of affordable housing and the limited scale of housing assistance programs have contributed to the current housing crisis and to homelessness. Battered women who live in poverty are often forced to choose between abusive relationships and homelessness. For families and individuals struggling to pay the rent, a serious illness or disability can start a downward spiral into homelessness, beginning with a lost job, depletion of savings to pay for care, and eventual eviction. Homelessness results from a complex set of circumstances that require people to choose between food, shelter, and other basic needs. There are many reasons one can become homeless, so you see, you ARE AN IGNORANT TWIT. I rest my case.
No, I don't because there are no homeless people around the area where I live. At least none that camp out on sidewalks and such. Only some strange looking hitch hikers occasionally. Shoot I need what money I have for me & my kid to get by.
I don't usually give them money but i do give them food and I know every holiday I go around the streets and if there are any homeless people I feed them too.
I also give them cards with the information of the closest soup kitchen and shelter.
Rarely have I ever given a homeless person money unless I was on the subway and didn't have any food with me.
Charity stops people from solving their own problems, give a man a sandwich bar and he will eat for a day, tell him to get off his * and do something...
Only exception is people are physically unable to solve their own problems such as disabled.
If I had plenty of money, I might. But as it is, I can only spare so much money, so I make sure that what I do donate is worth it. I don't mind donating to charities like the Red Cross or the Cancer Society, because I can be pretty certain that they'll use the money for a good cause. But I'm a lot more reluctant to donate to homeless people because I don't know why they're homeless, how bad their situation is, and what they'll use the money for.
(And I'm not even talking about homeless people spending donated money on booze or drugs. The last time a homeless person asked me for money, it was some dude asking for $5 so he could buy a cappuccino. Jesus, I wouldn't spend $5 on a cappuccino for myself, let alone for a complete stranger. I can't help but think that if you're willing to buy an overpriced luxury item, either you're not poor at all, or you have disastrous spending habits and me giving you money would only be fueling this spending addiction.)
Through my experience what the homless need is some love conversation and regonizing their existance for crying out loud. Second they need the word of God because it is very precious to the human sole. Third go buy them some food, or make some sandwithes at home with some cookies, and a drink. Third try your best not to bring your story in the conversation but ask them what their story is, and let them do the talking. Last advice if needed. Names are very important remeber their names. Bring forth Love that is found in you through JEsus christ.
One more point, Giving money to the homless may attract unwanted attention, because beleive it or not word spreads around that your giving out money, and your name will be know. More homless may even come because of money your giving out.
