Do you prefer when it when it was in the 1800s or in the 2000s

In the old times, many people don't have the problems that the new times are facing.. Technology has taken a big toll on the new times.. People have become anti- social and ignorant.. But, in the new times, education is WAY better and people are smarter... In the old times, people could probably skip school anyday and help in the farm or something.. right?

Back when I lived in the 1800s I had a better life.

I am surprised you were able to figure that out.

Yes we have a love affair with the "good old days" when things were made well and did not break down at the end of their warranty, when life was simpler and more carefree, etc etc etc etc and etc.

However we forget that lifespan was shorter, work was harder, disposal income did not exist in people who lived from hand to mouth and people died from diseases and conditions we have since eradicated.

Thank goodness for evolution

Yes, the good old days of dramatically worse quality of life, dramatically worse life expectancy, dramatically worse infant mortality rates, dramatically worse rates of extreme poverty, dramatically worse racial oppression (and, you know, slavery), I could go on.

Technology has improved almost every aspect of human life.

And of course the time spent with family has also improved due to technology, you can now tell them how much their loved via text message. Nothing says I love you like a good car crash.

As opposed to not being to tell them at all because you died at 40 and many of your children died before their first birthday. I'd say it is an improvement.

Side: New times

In the old times, people were more prone to diseases and the life span was shorter.

Side: New times

Actually, that is kinda true... They definitely suffered more diseases and probably had less cures for it

That depends entirely upon which part of the world you are discussing...

I rather not live in a time where racial inequality was somewhat of an issue. .

Have you seen the news? Racial inequality still exists .

In the old times, many people don't have the problems that the new times are facing..

Pray, do tell, what are these new problems that many people now face?

Technology has taken a big toll on the new times.. People have become anti- social and ignorant..

Evidence, please. I am immensely skeptical.

But, in the new times, education is WAY better and people are smarter...

That depends upon your metric. While I would agree that education has improved and some people can now learn more, I would not necessarily agree that people are on average more intelligent than we were before.

In the old times, people could probably skip school anyday and help in the farm or something.. right?

In the "old times" education was a privilege enjoyed by exceptionally few - generally wealthy, powerful men. Most people did not skip school because they were not enrolled and could not afford it.
