Psychedelics do that to me, too, though the effect have been less lasting. Every time I'm on LSD and I light up a cigarette I then ask myself what the fuck I'm even doing with a cigarette. I'm then libel to put that cigarette out, pick myself up some fruit, and then go for an 8hr walk. Lucy deters me from smoking because it seems to push the adverse effects to the forefront, not the perks; with mushrooms I'm often just too far gone to fully understand why I would want to smoke a cigarette, or else too distracted for smoking a cigarette to even occur to me.
That being said, on psychedelics in particular cigarettes sometime act as an anchor to reality for me. Those time's when things are getting so intense you cant do much more than hold on tight and hope for the best, doing something familiar like smoking a cigarette helps bring me back around, and keeps me grounded in the real and concurrent activity of smoking when I would otherwise be lost in a thought spiral.
Couple of times a week. I'm not bothered about the health effects, I don't give a shit about a few more carcinogens when I'm living in a fume filled industrial shithole, I don't smoke full time because then I won't enjoy cigarettes, I'll just need them.
Nope I don't smoke cigarettes because it is unhealthy for my body and also I shouldn't put something in my body that is going to kill me. Its against my beliefs.
Do you have any idea how much stuff you already put into your body that can kill you?
Such as fast food, and processed food. Nearly everything is unhealthy. You might as well not worry about which one thing in your life is going to kill you and just enjoy life.
This is the same conclusion I reached about cancer. Apparently everything I own and frequently go around has the potential to cause cancer, or so I've been told, so I decided to just stop worrying about it any hope they come up with a cure before I die of the disease.
a big mac doesn't take 8 minutes off my life (or something like that) I'm not lecturing you because i admit I've done a couple primetime mini cigars while drinking with friends but junk food does not compare to smoking in terms of unhealthiness.
Becuase... i'm young and I don't want to mess up my life, and get cancer, and possibly die young.... so nothing against you as a person, even though I don't know you, but you are risking your health...
Comparably. You see, I don't know anybody who smokes more than maybe two grams of pot per day - and that's a rarity - which comes out to roughly $15. Cigarettes, by contrast, now I know people who smoke quite a few packs of those per day, running up a bill almost double that of the most prolific of tokers.
I checked the cost of cigarettes at my local variety store yesterday. Whilst I don't know how taxing affects the cost, a pack of 20 cigarettes was listed as being roughly $6 (maybe $5.85 - I don't recall off hand).
Where are you buying $15 dubs? 1g of top grade from the club is $16-18, and most substantial bud starts at $1 per point, so $10 a gram. $20 of pot, a dub, and 2g are all the same thing, generally. If you smoke 2g a day you're spending about $20 a day, which is comparable in price to between 3 and 5 packs of cigarettes purchased individually.
2g is also about what goes into a blunt. I know plenty of people who smoke multiple blunts a day, but I have never met anyone who smokes 5 packs a day.
I usually spend the same amount on bud and cigarettes in a given month, and I always have cigarettes to smoke but i really have to space out my pot consumption to make it last, mainly because it's so much more expensive and I get less bang for my buck. It costs between $60-80 to keep me high for a whole day, an only $6-12 to allow me all the cigarettes I could want.
A lot of this is based off of personal experience and I live in the weed capital of the US, so it's understandable if you've seen different. Here, though, people smoke a lot of bud and generally the most prolific cigarette smokers I know are the pack a day smokers.
No, and not strictly due to heath considerations either.
If the average smoker goes through a pack a day, at around $6 per pack (actually, more than this), then the average smoker easily spends $2000 or more per year.
May not seem like much to some, but if I'm going to spend $2k a year feeding a hobby or habit, I'd like to have something other than a cancerous tumor to show for it.
You could die at any moment from any number of things. Getting out of bed is suicide=) Here yee here yee WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE AND WE DONT KNOW WHEN!
No its not. Suicide: the act or an instance of taking one's own life voluntarily and intentionally. When i get out of bed, im not intentionally taking my life. Theres not a huge chance that i will automatically die from some random reason. But for smokers there is a 50% chance that they will die from a smoking related disease. Of course smokers dont say "Hey! Im going to smoke cuz i wanna die!" I was being figurative when i said its suicide. Its just a pretty high chance of them dying because of it, and a bigger chance that they will at least get a disease, and most of them know it. Im just saying its not worth it.
I know you were being figurative, I was mostly joking around myself, but its also true. If you choose to get out of bed the chances of a fatal accident or encounter is greatly increased. By making the choice to go out into the world each day you are taking a huge risk with your life. You could choke on your breakfast or be hit by a car or shot by a co-worker or have a heart attack, aneurysm, blood clot or allergic reaction to something you didn't know you were allergic to. You could get sick and die from the food you eat or the air you breath. You could get aids from the sex you have or killed by the mate you choose and so on.
I know the chances of me dieing from a smoking related cause is high, say 50% but I have just as much chance of dieing from something els and I would like to go having just enjoyed a satisfying cigarette =) For me, its worth it.
I guess what I'm saying is if one doesn't plan on living a long time, smoking to commit suicide is a lot more fun than hanging, cutting, shooting, suffocating, and every other thing people do to end it all.
As all you know that cigarette is harmful to our health , but some people don't want to admit it. It affects to your health, like cancer and other health problems such as heart disease, aneurysms and stroke. Besides that, it affects to your appearance. It can leave an odor on your breath, skin, hair and clothes. So, try to give up a smoking, it is just a bad habit, if you have an aim to stop, you can do it easily! good luck ))
No I'm not, and I'm proud of myself. I can not understand the people who are smoking, of course it is their choice, but it is so stupid to kill yourself by your own hands.
Definitely not. Never have, never will. Too many disadvantages. Long term and short term health concerns, cost, addiction/dependence, appearance and smell issues, location limitation (not just legally), exposure to others, etc.... all for a little bit of relaxation?
I'd rather relax without all those disadvantages and I have countless options for doing so.
No, I do not smoke cigarettes, although my parents do.
Anyway, cigarettes are disgusting! Not only do they put nicotine in cigarettes, but chemicals like ammonia (toilet bowl cleaner),benzene(found in coal and petroleum),acetone(nail polish remover), tar (black sticky substance that damages your lungs and gets stuck to them), formaldehyde (embalming fluid, used to preserve dead bodies) CO(carbon monoxide found in car exhaust fumes),arsenic (rat poison), and hydrogen cyanide (gas chamber poison). Yes, that all sounds really gross and poisonous, doesn't it? Besides, I would never smoke because I love to sing, and smoking makes your voice all raspy and destroys your respiratory system. What's more smoking cigarettes is known to cause lung cancer.
I don`t support smoking cigarettes and the reason is that smoking is very harmful for our health. And the result of doing it people can feel and also see. Every smoker have a cough and shortness of breath and can notice, that his/her skin and teeth started to look unhealthy. So, there are my arguments to not support smoking.
