How is it not reliable for killing people? Almost all of the time, if you stab a criminal with a lethal needle, and it's bedtime for them. Botched executions do happen, but they weren't very common. Between 1890 and 2010, there were around 8,776 executions in the United States. Out of all of those, only about 276 (3.15%) of them were botched.
How do lethal injections induce any suffering? Chemicals are included in the needle to numb the feelings. Now, maybe electrocution and death by firing squad will hurt, but why should they feel no pain at the end of their life despite the murder/rape/other crime they committed?
How can you tell me what I can and can't be? I'm pro-life, and there's not much you can do about that. In any case, I'm pro-life because I don't believe a woman can murder their child for no reason other than they don't want to be a parent. There's a difference between abortion and the death penalty; for the most part, the death penalty is a consequence of the murderer's actions, whereas abortion is a consequence of the fetus being conceived.
The solution is to give the murderer, rapist, etc. what they deserve, i.e. their death. You can't seriously say the most they deserve is forced labor.
I take it you don't believe in an eye for an eye.
