Obviously not, it was a politically motivated act. I'm sure it did take courage to come out as trans but not as much as, to use your example, dodging bullets to save a comrade's life. I also feel that when the courage is for merely your own benefit (as in this instance) it reduces the significance of the bravery. In other words when one is brave for the benefit of others rather than oneself it is a greater bravery.

Bruce Jenner did nothing but prove what a coward he is, afraid to be the man he is with his record of sin and it's dark shadow over his life. Changing his name to a female name and paying doctors to mutilate his body was not brave and it did not change him into a woman; nor did it remove the cloud of sin darkening his life but rather thickened that cloud and darkened it's shadow. Bruce is on his way to Hell, he needs to be saved the only savior who is God the Man Jesus Christ who died for Bruce's sins and rose from the dead with power to forgive and save all who believe on Him and ask God in Jesus' name to forgive their sins and save them from Hell.
