Do you think people who kick and hit ball desreve millions of money

football and cricket players earn millions of money whereas scientist who work on pushing the limits of science earn few thousands(90,000-110,000). do you think they really desrve it.

Supply and demand. People will pay lots of money to watch their favourite sports and the player's earnings are commensurate with their talents and skills. The better the players, the more people will pay to watch and support them. It's the same with pop groups , movie stars and top flight business people.

Those weren't scientists, those were inventors. Those guys deserve money.

Side: no,they don't.

Yes. If the people are willing to pay and watch it then I don't see a problem with it. I'm quite the sports fan myself.

Is it a sport or a business or both.....?.

The reason the celebrity players get so much cash is because yes they are good at what they do and because the business wants to make more money so eventually the best clubs become the ones that can afford the most cash to entice the best players.

It is definitely supply and demand. Same with the movies and corporations etc etc. It has become a business strategy to pay the best the most cash. The more the business earns the more they are willing to pay. Those that can't afford it don't get the best players and don't make the grade so there is no equality in the game because its fundamental principle is based upon how much they can afford to put together the best team. Individuals have agents/managers to make sure the player gets the best deal because the more the player gets the more the agent/manager gets and last but not least there is the IRS looking over their shoulder.

And so it goes around and around with so many getting a piece of the pie the price just gets ever higher and higher.

Millions! They don't deserve to get paid at all. They do not contribute anything to society. In fact they give alcoholics another reason to drink, like they need one.

Now paying women to play sand volleyball in bikinis, that's a different subject.

Hell no. Or at least not as much as they do. As the creator of this debate said, there's scientists who ACTUALLY do things to benefit the world. And not to mention the troops. I don't mean to come off as selfish but us troops put our lives and families lives on the line everyday but we get paid next to nothing. So why does someone who plays a game they're passionate about get paid more than a person who's passionate about the country and everyone in it as a whole? Now I'm not saying we troops should make millions or even hundreds of thousands by any means. But it's just kind of hard to understand how someone who plays a GAME for a living gets paid more than someone like myself who not only defends the country and people within it but also have qualification to be a aviation mechanic and be a crew chief. I get trusted with a helicopter that costs, on the low end, $5.9 million. That's one helicopter. And the whatever price you want to put on the lives in the helicopter. I'm also responsible for those. So please explain how that is less important or qualifies me to get paid MUCH less than a pro sport player.

It is spectacular loss of money to be honest, neither scientists nor sport players deserve such heck of money;see anyone can kick a ball and scientists pursue such useless objectives-finding water in Mars for 30 years though they're very sure they wont find anything even after another 20 years of toil.

I think a waitress at Denny's deserves as much money. There are plenty of people who work day in and day out who deserve just as much money as Sports players.
