Does Atheists' attitude on Religion mirror Anarchists' attitude on Government?
The majority of athiests believe that their belief system is superior to any religion, because it does not require the believer to make any sort of commitment whatsoever, in the same way anarchists will want to remove government as they believe it to be too controlling and society would benefit more without it.
While this is a crude description of the debate I hope that you will all understand it and partake in the discussion with the appropriate attitude, I've seen other religious debates on this site and I would just like to state that all people posting must respect other peoples beliefs.

No. Atheists don't believe any kind of deity exists, yet no anarchist would say "Queens? Prime ministers? Those things don't exist, y'know." A better approximation would be a deist, who believes in gods yet does not deem them worthy of worship. I believe that gods should be worshipped by those that want to worship them, and I'll try not to get in the way of that too much. But I don't want to worship any myself. Side: No

Should not is not does not. A Satanist such as prodigee may have 'anarchistic' views on religion in that he wants to overthrow the Christian god. But that's not really anarchistic, it's revolutionary. He seems to believe in Satan as a leader of some sort. But if he dismissed the idea that any deity or supernatural being should have dominion over mankind, and yet still believed in them that would make him deist, not atheist or Satanist. Which is a similar view that anarchists hold towards monarchs and ministers, presidents and the such. Side: Yes
Well, there is Anarchist philosophy that doesn't recognize "government," but just people with guns telling everyone else what to do. However, Anarchists are, essentially, AGAINST the State while Atheists, by definition, don't believe there to be a God in the first place. Someone who believes in God but is actively against that God is not an Atheist. They would still be a Theist. Anarchism is a political philosophy, Atheism is a lack of belief in God. Side: No

How? We'd still have the twin towers, wouldn't be fighting in Afghanistan, and those people in Boston would still be alive. And that's just a few. I don't doubt that religion HAS served a purpose in history, all I'm saying is its overstayed its welcome and is useless in a modern world. It's more harm than good. Side: Yes
