Depends on the tarrif and it's purpose. In Europe's case, they happily over tarrifed us, and a return of mass tarrifs forced them to consider no tarrifs... If that mindset had been in play during the last two administrations? Our deficit would be well...zero. I miss the old days when Democrats looked like today's Republicans... So, tariffs work when Trump does them, but NOT when Chucky does them?? Two things can be true at once. Thing 1 Tarrifs can work temporarily as a tool, if you are economics minded, to get other countries to stop cheating the system or using and abusing you. Thing 2 Tarrifs as a general way of life, from a non economics minded clown who switches political positions based on opinion polls, just because, for no reason, because you feel all Socialist and sh*t, is nonsense.
