Does black privilege exist in the U S ?

The fact that white people are better off is not a privilege; it's earned.

The existence of any socio-economic benefit resulting from skin color will depend on the context. Situations wherein it is more beneficial to be black than white are fewer than the reverse, given the majority population. But that would not negate the existence of beneficial black skin in some situations.

Yes black privilege does exist, because just by the fact that slavery existed, everyone feels compelled to accommodate all black people because of what happened to their ancestors. However, in a way, all color privileges exist, meaning white, Hispanic, black, etc. Because unfortunately, with all that US citizens are exposed, which include mass media, internet, and everyday life, we all have prejudices, whether it is "unconscious" or not. Blacks being more prone to living in poverty and having broken families compared to whites, isn't a matter of race, but of culture, which many numerical statistics, through research, have shown.

Sure it does. Point out that liberal colleges systematically discriminate against Asians with high scores to place blacks in those spots instead, and watch the left run for cover, whistling as they walk away.

To think that any group has some sort of race-based privilege seems rather absurd. Every human is an individual human whose life is affected by a countless number of variables and I am yet to see any conclusive evidence that takes all these into account and still finds a noticeable correlation. I really do detest the sort of collectivist mindset that would have us all categorised based upon race. I mean I do not have any sort of meaningful connection to everyone who is White and nor do I think we act as a collective or have gotten where we each are in life individually because of some unknown "privilege" we share and I assume it is the same with other ethnicities.

Its not like we hold annual "White People Meetings" to discuss what our next collective goal is. (I mean, at the very least I'm not invited to them... you're not keeping me out of the loop are you Bront? :P)

Hello D:

Like MOST of the privileged white class, you have NO clue what it is. It has NOTHING to do with money. So, when blacks HAVE money, that doesn't mean there's such a thing as black privilege..

Here's what wikipedia says white privilege is:

"White privilege (or white skin privilege) is a term for societal privileges that benefit people identified as white in some countries, beyond what is commonly experienced by non-white people under the same social, political, or economic circumstances."

That's pretty straightforward, isn't it??? Didja notice that it doesn't mention money? Nahhh.. You didn't..

How do you know I'm white ?

How do you know I'm privileged ?

Where did I state it has to do with money ?

Where did I state when blacks have money it's black privilege?

When you stop ranting maybe you could address the ACTUAL questions I asked ?
