Does God help you in your life? Does God answer prayers?
According to the Islam, The Prophet Muhammad (saws) has said in a Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira: Make a Dua( prayer) and be assured of being answered and know that Allah ( God in arabic) does not answer a Dua from people with a careless heart , which is not concentrating at all. The Prophet ( peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that slave or believer will receive a response very fast if the wish not involve sin. Some people who made a dua says that they did but haven't recieve anything any response are hasty and stop doing it at all gets of being frustrated. The person who is praying and asking God for help is heard. There are many people whose prayer aren't answered. There are many reasons why it's like that. I would like to inform you and give few arguments why your prayer aren't excepted.
1) You're not praying regularly or probably you're not praying at all
2) You're not fasting during Ramadan or Paskha if you are Christian
3) You're not paying your almsgiving to poor people
God Sees everything and hears all prayer of his slaves. God is the Merciful, He is the one creator of Earth and everywhere. God knows everything you desire. Change you life , belive in God, and you will be on the right way of this life. Ask help , pray to God always , follow religion and deserve your happy and peaceful future in Paradise forever.
God does help me in my life. God does answer prayer but he is not going to answer it right away. It's God's will if He want's to answer it or not. I prayed to God to heal my grandma from cancer and God choose to take my grandma's life and she is in Heaven and healed from the cancer and was a fellow believer in Jesus Christ. Sometime God doesn't answer prayers. Some prayers can be answered years from now. I have prayed many prayer's to God and sometimes He doesn't answer and I am patient. He can also respond in many different ways. Through the Bible, through a person or a sermon that someone is preaching that is when I know my prayers have been answered.
God does help me in my life. God does answer prayer but he is not going to answer it right away. It's God's will if He want's to answer it or not.
What a carefree thing... he isn't going to help someone just because he doesn't want to do it? God is really arrogant then... He doesn't freaking care about humans he created, he's irresponsible, and intolerable. As a creator of this universe (even though I don't believe it) he should have helped every man in need, but in fact, he let many died (of disease). The existence of hospital proves that you need not to pray.
I prayed to God to heal my grandma from cancer and God choose to take my grandma's life and she is in Heaven and healed from the cancer
Oh, my, did Gabriel or the other angel or even the God tell you about that? How could you know about that? :D isn't it God's will to put your grandma in either hell or heaven?
Some prayers can be answered years from now
He's busy eh? you'd rather study than pray boy (I heard from someone here that you're 15), if you study now, you'll get smart immediately, and when you pray, you'll have to wait again, hey! we can't wait in this modern era!!! everything's moving fast, so don't go waste your time! if it's only a matter of God's will, then answering your prayers in 100 years would be possible for him :) you'll get nothing , you got it? (your prayers will NEVER BECOME TRUE)
God has answered my prayers. Sometimes when I pray to God and a few days later after I pray He responds to me by different things. Sometimes when I am reading the Bible He speaks to me there and also sometimes when a pastor is preaching about something then I notice that God answered my prayer.
Also a hospital doesn't prove that you can stop praying. The doctors there can't cure every single disease or sickness. You know why there is disease and suffering? It is because of sin.
My grandma did not go to hell because she was a believer in Jesus Christ and was reading the Bible every single day for hours and studying God's Word. Angels don't take the soul away. God is the giver of life and death. He ends people's life and He gives people life.
Proof? What I mean here is scientific, empirical proof, not the words to a delusional fool.
You know why there is disease and suffering? It is because of sin.
Really? Are earthquakes and tsunamis caused by sin as well?
My grandma did not go to hell
How do you know? Have you seen her take the other route away from hell? Where is your proof that "hell" and "heaven" exist? If you can't give good evidence for your statements, then, by Occam's razor, such statements are illogical.
No the reason why I am not responding to you is because I am talking with someone else. I can't talk to 5 people at a time so be patient and wait it might take awhile
That's interesting. Because I would think that it is easy to speak to 5 people at once. Also, in your very first rebuttal, you only responded to one of the three questions. If you really are that devoted to debate, you would have at least said something about the other two criticisms. What you are doing is a fundamental act of intellectual dishonest. And you wonder why we don't like you?
First, earthquakes and tsunamis are natural disasters, fool. Next, are you so sure that all natural disasters are causes "of" [sic?] sin? You would need a lot of justification for that. Until and unless you can catalogue every single natural disaster and explain how they are causes OF sin, I have to dismiss your statement. Any fair minded person would do the same.
They are the cause of sin because when hurricanes or massive flood hits foreign countries or people in the USA it ends up where people are dying. Also Christians people know that the natural disasters are the cause of sin and also suffering and death is the cause of sin too.
Think about the innocent people- the children who were without sin, who became victim to God's anger. How could God allow them to die a painful death of drowning, wounds and infection? And why would God need to kill sinners and disbelievers and doom them for an eternity of hell when they can still have a chance to redeem themselves? Where is the forgiveness in that? God is supposed to be omnipotent, and yet he does nothing.
They are the cause of sin because when hurricanes or massive flood hits foreign countries or people in the USA it ends up where people are dying.
People die anyway. It doesn't support your argument at all. Such disasters have necessary and sufficient naturalistic explanations. Occam's razor thus disposes of the need to invoke any form of supernaturalism to explain the cause and effects of natural disasters.
Also Christians people know that the natural disasters are the cause of sin
Correction: suffering is the cause of stupidity, desires we can't have, and 'lack of'. Hurricanes are as you have stated 'NATURAL disasters' meaning they are caused by changes in the atmosphere such as temperature, pressure, humidity, etc. And it's not just foreign countries that have massive floods and hurricanes. Have you forgotten about Katrina? By the way, how in the world is death caused by sin!? It is a natural occurance; are bodily processes fail and we just end to exist.
Sometimes when I am reading the Bible He speaks to me there and also sometimes when a pastor is preaching about something then I notice that God answered my prayer.
you heard him speaking to you? wow, amazing, you could hear someone saying something to you, whose voice can't produce any sound wave, I never heard him. nah, this is the next thing you would (probably) say: "hear him through your heart". man, a heart doesn't receive any sound, I never learn that in science. And if you say that I can't hear his voice, perhaps it's because I don't believe in him, if he always speak to you about good things, and you can hear it,then God's very mean towards me, why doesn't he use a mega speaker to make me realize of his voice?his good things?
You know why there is disease and suffering? It is because of sin.
I remember you saying that every sin has been fixed by Jesus(forget where I saw it)
so, did Jesus fail? haha
My grandma did not go to hell because she was a believer in Jesus Christ and was reading the Bible every single day for hours and studying God's Word.
I'll rape,I'll go stealing things, I'll go bomb the white house, I'll KILL YOU! but, because I'm a believer in Jesus Christ and am reading the Bible every single day for hours and studying God's Word,God will take me to heaven...:)
bro, plaese dispute my arguments.... it looks like you had no idea how to do it...
No I meant that when I read the Bible sometimes His Word that I read I understand what He is trying to tell me and bring up attention to me.
It's not him speaking to you, but it's you trying to fathom the Bible.
If I consider your earlier argunments, it looks like you're trying to prove everything with Bible. Ok, I'll give you an example:
ME: 1+1=2 and I have 2 apples to prove it
You : 1+1= 3 and you have the Bible to prove it, because you believe in Bible and the Bible says so, although it's wrong already . Will you still believe the bible to prove 1+1=3 ?
I don't see how this instance helps your case. You just said that you prayed for your grandma to be healed but she died. How is that in any way answering your prayer? You are trying too hard to rationalize the fact that your prayer was not answered. So if your god exists(which you insist he does) he stood idly by as your grandmother suffered and as she died and did nothing. How can you believe in a god this cruel?
Well, if prayer is so powerful, why don't we just fire all the meat inspectors and then pray away salmonella, H1N1 and H5N1? You know what? There are a couple more people we could do without if prayer was that powerful. We could do without teachers and pray for kids to learn on their own. We could do without authors and pray for books to magically write themselves. We could also do without priests, prophets and pastors and pray for "God's Word" to spread itself. While we're at it, we could do without people like you on this site and then pray for stupid, unlettered, unintelligent, unintelligible, illogical and irrational arguments to write themselves as well.
Of course, all of the above are written with obvious sarcasm (maybe one of us atheists could pray for the theists to understand the difference between the sarcastic and polemic as well). But the real reason why atheists don't see the need to pray at all is simple: there is no evidence to show that God exists and therefore, we should suspend judgement and not presuppose that he does.
It's not God's "will" whether he wanted to answer you or not. It's all in nature; all in science research. Your grandma died of cancer because her body is fragile. As you grow your body ages and it can't be reversed. She was more of in the likes of losing her life not because "God didn't answer your prayer" but because we humans cannot live thousands and millions of years.Your Grandma is not in Heaven because you have never been there and you have never seen it. Nor have you seen a God before and nor can you tell me about the afterlife in heaven. If heaven is proven to be true I wouldn't even care to waste my time here on Earth.
It is God's will whether He wants to answer it or not. He is God and sometimes it can take years for my prayer to be answered but that doesn't stop me from praying. It says in the Bible to pray without stopping even if He doesn't answer we should continue to pray.
My grandma is in Heaven because she believed in Jesus Christ and served and did His will. And I know she is in Heaven because she was godly women and everyday she would read the Bible for hours everyday when she was alive. Also she told me to do the same thing. I know there is a heaven because Jesus said in the Bible that He will prepare a place for us in Heaven for us Christians that believed in Him and did His will.
I know I can't see God but I know He is real because in the Bible it says that the disciples and people were eyewitnesses of his glory.
No I gave you proof that the people in the Bible saw Jesus and that they were eyewitnesses. But you don't believe that other people saw Jesus rose from the grave. Also did you know when these people who found the Dead Sea Scrolls it was a part of the Bible (Isaiah) and it was word for word in the Bible and in the Dead Sea Scrolls. So that means the rest of the Bible was word for word. Also the Bible is God because it says in John 1:1 that the Word became flesh. That means that God is the Bible. So when you are making fun of the Bible you are making fun of God. Also God doesn't but errors He tells the Truth and is perfect if He would lie then He would not be perfect.
No I gave you proof that the people in the Bible saw Jesus and that they were eyewitnesses. But you don't believe that other people saw Jesus rose from the grave.
Think about it. The bible was telling a story of a place where miracles had happened on a daily basis- where men came back from the dead and where God spoke to the people allot and did so many things. All of this stuff is only said in the bible- it is all pulled back and enclosed into one small book. It's surprising how God is absent everyday and how resurrections would be never found on the News or anywhere. Why did God stop making appearances and giving miracles? Does he even care to provide undeniable proof to non-believers to save countless many innocent souls from eternal fire? (Why is it fire anyway, there are things more painful to be in than just fire) It's not surprising how when the bible stops, God is suspiciously absent.
While your reading this, whilst getting bugged about this argument and building conspiracies, please don't pull this "Only God knows" stuff on me. It is guiltily desperate. And, the current miracles and "evidence" that people are so gullible to believe in are mostly already considered false- Shroud of Turin, that was already found as a medieval prank.
But since there is a lack of evidence for God in this world, you still go on using the bible as such.
Srom, try to learn how to use skepticism, and avoid being so gullible. The world is not as "magical" as it seems. I had learnt this within a length of a year which had broken me from indoctrination which was forced upon me ever since i was born. But I know you will still believe in God (I was relentless like that once too) And of course, the slight hostility you might take from this argument will compel you to believe in God too. (The slightly immature anger of someone else, can lead to the disagreement every idea, concept and belief that person holds.) Slavery and Misogyny in the bible was just a small part of the reason I left the confines of religion. I always look back to see how blinded I was: I bore a pasty smile- a mask of false emotion upon my face every time. But through the months of thoughtful solitude, I reached a new "intelligent" stage of enlightenment (lol.)
Now I am a 15 year old new-born atheist and happy.
Since I dismiss the Christian God, (because the writers didn't really get the omniscient, omnipresent and all loving part right) I seek a true God, provided there is one- who is above the spoiled brat of which is the Christian God. But I don't care, as long as I live a good life and help other people, I'll be just fine, instead of having to put up with the bratty Christian God who you believe wants me to suffer in hell just because I don't believe- no matter how much lives I could save and how much sacrifices that be made. Don't you think the Christian God is so childish?
Yes to you, you don't see people getting healed on the news or people raise from the dead. I watch Christian programs where people get healed from diseases or they tell how they got saved because before they were an unbeliever and God healed them and people became a Christian.
He does provide proof to both nonbelievers and to believers. If people would actually read the Bible and study it they would find the answer to it. But many people including you don't want to read the Bible because you think it is not true and it has many contradictions. It says in the Bible that the disciples didn't make up this story but they received it through Jesus Christ and were eyewitnesses.
But since there is a lack of evidence for God in this world, you still on using the bible as such.
Again if you would read the Bible and read yourself you would see that the disciples were eyewitnesses. But instead you choose to deny it.
But I don't care, as long as I live a good life and help other people instead of having to put up with the bratty Christian God.
You would still go to hell no matter what even if you think you lived a happy life and helped people that still is not good enough. In order for you to go to heaven is if you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and get baptize and live like how God want's you to live and you read the Bible then you will go to heaven.
Don't you think the Christian God is so childish?
No because I know He is a good and great God. I put my trust in Him. I will serve Him until the day I die
Yes to you, you don't see people getting healed on the news or people raise from the dead.
Then why is the world not raving about it yet? And why does it always seem to be on Christian programs only? God is supposed to be omnipotent, why won't he try harder.
I watch Christian programs where people get healed from diseases or they tell how they got saved because before they were an unbeliever and God healed them and people became a Christian.
It's amazing how all that sappy Christian crap is heaped up into shoddy, low funded TV shows. It makes me laugh how most Christians want to believe so much that they start making up false claims- most already proven wrong by now. There is a reason why most of these "miracles" never show up on the News or anywhere else other than sappy Christian shows. If you believe that people are miraculously cured of disease, why can't God heal amputees? Maybe it's just a little difficult for those Christians to pretend to have lost a leg, (because they would really have to cut off their leg) and then it would be hard for them for the leg to miraculously grow back. Amputation gives Christians a hard time to fake it.
You would still go to hell no matter what even if you think you lived a happy life and helped people that still is not good enough. In order for you to go to heaven is if you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and get baptize and live like how God want's you to live and you read the Bible then you will go to heaven.
You act like such a tiny little kid- do you know that? Have you even pondered why Jesus and God need you to believe in them? Start thinking, Srom. Start asking why, in all existence would a saver of lives and a good person would deserve such suffering in eternal flames? Investigate the childish necessity that God seems to bear. Do they really need you to believe? Are you thinking clear now? Is anything making sense to you yet? Would it be worth sending a good person (who saves lives) to hell just because he doesn't agree with the lack of evidence? Seriously, if God is omnipotent, wouldn't he just call out to them individually? Wouldn't he be able to show evidence? Dude, you need to understand how much an eternity of hell sucks, because if you believe that the non-believers are going to hell, wouldn't God at least save them by proving beyond a doubt? Seriously- it's not that hard. And yet he still does nothing.
Again if you would read the Bible and read yourself you would see that the disciples were eyewitnesses. But instead you choose to deny it.
The disciples were written.
Harry Potter was written too.
So were the "Holy Books" And the Quran.
Srom, you need to understand that the bible is NOT factual evidence. If it is, you should be put to death for ever eating shrimp, or for wearing clothes made from multiple fabrics or by saying that one little curse to your parents, or that you can beat your slaves to the verge of death. Trust me, that's what God said in the bible. Believe it and you will Dieee lol. But it is true, and if you are aware that you have done this acts, God won't be happy.
No because I know He is a good and great God. I put my trust in Him. I will serve Him until the day I die
That is just sad. How can he be a good and great God when he damns good people to hell just because they don't believe and he doesn't even bother to show any evidence to help them believe? How could he cause natural disasters to drown, and murder innocent children with such painful deaths? How can he be afraid of shrimp and condone rape and slavery? GOD. HAS. DONE. EVIL.- This is undeniable.
God also has some bad anger problems that end up killing innocent people:
Good Samaritans were victim to Gods anger. (Just because they don't believe)
Innocent children without sin were victim to Gods anger. (The natural disasters you believe that he makes, killed many innocents)
A whole race was victim to Gods anger.
Where is the benevolence in this? Unless you smile upon these acts, you must have some kind of problem to believe that God is good. If you want to believe in a God, maybe this God isn't for you.
The Bible is factual evidence because God wrote the Book. God is perfect and since He is perfect therefore He can't lie or be tempted.
To begin with, the Bible has stronger manuscript support than any other work of classical history including Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Caesar, and Tacitus. Equally amazing is the fact that the Bible has been virtually unaltered since the original writings, as is attested by scholars who have compared earliest extant manuscripts with manuscripts written centuries later. Additionally, the reliability of the Bible is affirmed by the testimony of its authors, who were eyewitnesses or close associates of eyewitnesses to the recorded events and by secular historians who confirm the many events, people, places, and customs chronicled in Scripture.
Furthermore, archeology is a powerful witness to the accuracy of the New Testament documents. Repeatedly, comprehensive archaeological fieldwork and careful biblical interpretation affirm the reliability of the Bible.
For example, recent archaeological finds have corroborated biblical details surrounding the trial that led to the fatal torment of Jesus Christ-including Pontius Pilate, who ordered Christ's crucifixion as well as Caiaphas, the high priest who presided over the religious trials of Christ. It is telling when secular scholars must revise their biblical criticisms in light of solid archaeological evidence.
Finally, the Bible records predictions of events that could not be known nor predicted by chance or common sense. For example, the book of Daniel(written before 530 BC) accurately predicts the progression of kingdoms from Babylon through the Median and Persian empires to further persecution and suffering of the Jews under Antichus IV Epiphanies with his desecration of the temple, his untimely death, and freedom of the Jews under Judas Maccabeus (165 BC). It is statistically preposterous that any or all of the Bible's specific, detailed prophecies could have been fulfilled through chance, good guessing or deliberate deceit.
From the very second sentence I knew that there was something wrong. Your writing is usually damaged with immaturity, with an abundance of grammatical errors and riddled with biased statements. In this current wall of text- I see none of that. It makes one wonder.
Please do not copy (and paste) content from other websites or books- especially if you don't intend on leaving at least some reference to your source. It is an ineffective and false way of debating, partly because the author of this text is not here to back it up.
Also- don't even bother, you're too easy to sniff out anyway. None will be fooled.
And also- The very first sentence was in no doubt written by you because it is so baseless and inconclusive.
Aaaand also- I'm not sure which website you must of gotten it from, but all their sources indicate that it came from a book called "The Complete Bible Answer Book."
And for this I will demonstrate verses where God has commanded slavery, murder and sexism:
1 Samuel 15:2-3 Thus saith the LORD of hosts ... go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.
Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
1 Timothy 2:11-15 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.
1 Peter 2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
Luke 12:47-48 The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given."
1 Corinthians 14:34-36 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
(SOURCE: THE BIBLE)
And this is only part of why I am not an ounce inspired, nor enlightened by supposedly, "God's words."
And here's a little verse that "proves" that the Old Testament is still supposed to apply, and why you should die for eating shrimp because God seems to be scared of them:
Matt 5;18 or truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
I am going to go over the verse that you put up there and I am going to say to you what they actually mean.
1 Samuel 15:2-3 means that God told Saul to kill everyone because what they did to the Israelites. God's holy city is in Israel it is Jerusalem. Also if you read further on it says that Saul spared there king and spared everyone so He didn't kill the Amalekites.
Ephesians 5:22-23 means that the Women are suppose to submit to there husbands because the man is the head of the household and just like Christ is the head of the church so is the man that is the head of the house hold.
1 Timothy 2:11-15 means that since man was created first that women should not teach or have authority of man or rule over him because Adam was created first and not Eve and Eve was decieved and sinned but Adam was no the one decieved.
1 Peter 2:18 means that slaves or people who have masters or are servants of masters should listen to them no matter if they are nice or they are harsh to the them.
That verse Matt 5:18 has nothing to do with shrimp. That verse means that when heaven and earth dissapear God's words will still be there. It has nothing to do with shrimp. Besides I don't eat shrimp.
Ephesians 5:22-23 means that the Women are suppose to submit to there husbands because the man is the head of the household and just like Christ is the head of the church so is the man that is the head of the house hold.
fu%& this, do you know anything about women's emancipation? it's time for the women to rise up! (read next)
1 Timothy 2:11-15 means that since man was created first that women should not teach or have authority of man or rule over him because Adam was created first and not Eve and Eve was decieved and sinned but Adam was no the one decieved
what the fu^k? my mother is the head of my family, she manages everything... and the fuc^in' god really makes me siiiicccckkk!!! where the heck is the the evidence that he's really loves all humankind? he choose man over woman??? that's unfair!!! how can u explain my mom???
1 Peter 2:18 means that slaves or people who have masters or are servants of masters should listen to them no matter if they are nice or they are harsh to the them.
suppose that i were your master, and i order you to kill your mom! and also suppose that you're capable of killing me, what will you do ?
that verse Matt 5:18 has nothing to do with shrimp. That verse means that when heaven and earth dissapear God's words will still be there. It has nothing to do with shrimp. Besides I don't eat shrimp.
there? where? in my &ss;? you don't eat shrimp? god forbade you from eating it?
Even though these are not your words I will go through and explain why this is bullocks.
To begin with, the Bible has stronger manuscript support than...
Stop right there. I'm not sure what exactly the author means by 'manuscript support', nevertheless this has nothing to do with whether something is divinely inspired. There are plenty of written works with "manuscript support" that we have no reason to believe are divinely inspired.
historians who confirm the many events, people, places, and customs chronicled in Scripture.
That some of the events in the Bible are historically accurate means just that, that some of the events are historically accurate -- not all of them. Many of the events in the Bible are of a very fantastical or mythical nature, and openly defy the laws of physics, we have good reason to believe these things are not true and to insist otherwise is wishful thinking.
Finally, the Bible records predictions of events that could not be known nor predicted by chance or common sense.
This is perhaps the only thing in your whole post that could conceivable be evidence of divine authorship. Go on, I'm listening.....
For example, the book of Daniel(written before 530 BC) accurately predicts the progression of kingdoms from Babylon through the Median and Persian empires to further persecution and suffering of the Jews under Antichus IV Epiphanies with his desecration of the temple
The problem with this is that it most likely wasn't written before 530 BCE but rather it was written in the second century BCE and falsely attributed to Daniel, based on several anachronisms and Greek loanwords found within the text.
It is statistically preposterous that any or all of the Bible's specific, detailed prophecies could have been fulfilled through chance, good guessing or deliberate deceit.
Which is true, they weren't "Fulfilled" they were simply written about after these events had already happened. There is nothing prophetic about that.
There are no mythical events that are in the Bible everything is accurate. The Bible says that the disciples were eyewitnesses and they saw Jesus doing the miracles and so they wrote it down. Also when Jesus rose from the grave there were 500 people who saw Him when He was alive. The only thing they had back then was pen and paper as evidence so they wrote it down.
The bible actually contains several myths, and the New testament wasn't written down until nearly 80 years after Jesus died. The average lifespan back then was about 45. Meaning the people who wrote it down in all probability were not the ones who would have been alive to see it. In other words, it's hearsay. Legend passed by word of lips for almost a century before someone decided to write it down. Your faith lies in 2,000 year old hearsay.
There are no mythical events that are in the Bible everything is accurate. The Bible says that the disciples were eyewitnesses and they saw Jesus doing the miracles and so they wrote it down.
Of course the Bible will claim that the disciples saw it. If I were to write an autobiography on myself, I'm not going deny my own existence, am I?
Also when Jesus rose from the grave there were 500 people who saw Him when He was alive.
This does not prove that he was indeed resurrected from the dead.
The only thing they had back then was pen and paper as evidence so they wrote it down.
Wait. Wasn't it you who told me that the fairy tales were also spread by word of mouth?
This does not prove that he was indeed ressurrected from the dead
Yes it does. If there were people who saw Him after He rose from the grave that means it's true. People were amazed when they saw Him rose from the grave. So according to you if there was eyewitnesses that doesn't make it true correct? What about the many people who witnessed 9/11 when people were driving near the World Trade Center and they saw the plane crash into the towers. I guess those witnesses who saw it from there eyes is not true since they witnessed it.
It the same thing when you witnesses someone stealing in a store you might give a report to the police because you witnessed it. The police asks you what did you see and you tell him what the person was wearing, what the person was looked like, and after you gave all that information the police is going to take that information. The police is not going to deny the evidence because you were the one who saw it and the police officer didn't see what happen so he would take the evidence that you gave to him.
Its the same thing when Jesus resurrected from the dead many people didn't see Him rise from the dead but many people who were witnesses told the people who didn't see that they saw them and they believed the people who were saw Him.
If there were people who saw Him after He rose from the grave that means it's true.
There is no reason to think that people saw Him rising from the grave at all.
So according to you if there was eyewitnesses that doesn't make it true correct?
Incorrect. If there were witnesses, something might be true, but it is not necessarily true.
What about the many people who witnessed 9/11 when people were driving near the World Trade Center and they saw the plane crash into the towers. I guess those witnesses who saw it from there eyes is not true since they witnessed it.
Eyewitness reports aren't the only pieces of evidence to show that the plane did crash.
Then again, the eyewitness in this scenario could have been the burglar and is merely fabricating a story to report to the police. As a person who comes from a family of lawyers, I can safely tell you that eyewitness reports aren't the only evidence that prosecutors convict a person.
Wait wasn't it you who told me thath the fairy tales were also spread by word of mouth?
Yes I told you about that. Word of mouth is also evidence too. Just like the example I told you about the police example when you saw the robber stealing from a store and you gave him a report and they took it as evidence. That is word of mouth and evidence.
If I were to write an autobiography on myself, I'm not going to deny my own existence, am I?
I hope you don't deny your own existence. It would make no sense if you wrote a book and denied your own existence when you wrote something about yourself.
But in the previous comment, you said that the only evidence was in writing. By saying that you know include word of mouth, it makes your stand entirely arbitrary.
Furthermore, the word of mouth could have been a game of Chinese whispers gone wrong. If this is the case, then the word of mouth is not evidence at all.
It would make no sense if you wrote a book and denied your own existence when you wrote something about yourself.
Exactly. That is essentially the same with the Bible. If God was to write a book about his own Word, he wouldn't deny his own existence! However, that would also mean that such a source cannot be used as evidence for his existence because it would be entirely biased.
I went through your discussion and did not see any such mention of your source. You did not mention where you got it from. If you present something as if it is your own original thought without reference to the creative author, this is plagiarism. Cite your sources.
As long as you don't cite your source and add your own input, it is plagiarism. A quote can have multiple sources. Just because you got your "argument" from source A instead of source B doesn't mean that you didn't plagiarise. You might want to learn how to write proper arguments before you get kicked out of college.
you don't see people getting healed on the news or people raise from the dead.
What the hell? People raised from the dead? What kind of fantasy world do you think we live in?! Get your head out of this reverie of lies that has seemed do have clouded your logic and intelligence!
God wrote the Bible. But He used different people who believed in Him to write down what God told them to write down. The disciples and 500 people saw Him after He rose from the grave. Peter even said to Jesus that He was the Son of God.
God Wrote The Bible? Wow I didn't know he had such neat handwriting that it looked exactly like printing paper from a computer. God told people to write it down for him? So you're saying they saw him? How do you know that "god" is a male? Who says? Did you see?
God wrote the Bible but He used people to write it down. First they wrote it in a scroll then when they found the scrolls they would computerize it into what we have today. Yes they did saw Him it says that they didn't invent the stories rather they recieved it from Jesus Christ and they were also EYEWITNESSES of Jesus. Back then you got to realize that they didn't have the technology we have today like camera's, the internet or everything else we had today. So they only thing they had was pen and paper and word of mouth
Then why believe in the word of mouth then? It could be a game of Chinese Whispers gone wrong. The idea of God could have been warped through gossip and misinformation. In any case, witnesses do not prove in any way that God exists. We don't witness that the Earth is rotating. We can't feel it. But does it mean that it is not rotating? No.
How come, when I pick up and read the bible, the very words written from God are not emanating with holy incandescence? How come when I read it, I am not inspired- even from the words of supposedly the most intelligent mind in all existence? In fact, when I read the bible, I am disgusted of all the rape, slavery, genocide and meaningless murder caused by God. (Aka the biased minds of humans of ancient times.)
As a preface to the arguments, it is worth noting an argument that the claim that God exists is made more plausible by the fact of wide-spread religious belief. This argument is called the “argument from desire”. It begins with the observation that our natural instincts generally serve us well; every creature is born with an instinct for food because food sustains us, and each of us longs for meaningful relationships because community and friendship allow us to flourish. Generally speaking, if we have an innate desire for a thing then that thing both exists and is good for us. The natural instinct to look to the transcendent, therefore, which is made evident by the fact remarked upon above that every culture of every time has had some form of religion, suggests that there might well be something transcendent out there to be found. This instinct, according to the argument from desire, hints at the existence of God. That's why it's so important to know

Your argument is called argumentum ad populum, and it proves nothing.

That's an awful argument. Just because people have common biologically explainable urges, there's a God? If you actually expect to convert people with that, then I'm insulted.
How did you get up to 9 points with this retarded argument? Either every other Satanist and Atheist on this site died, or you have eight other accounts...
God doesn't have favorites. He sometimes doesn't answer my prayers but I have been patience but sometimes I will be mad with God if I don't see the changes.
From ancient time people believed in different powers and prayed for them. Someone believed and prayed to nature while others trusted in God. In this manner appeared religions-one of the most powerful phenomenons in the world. Everyone believe in their own religion.
As a muslim I trust in God and His religion in the whole. You know, religion is a positive impact on humanity. But of course it is up to how you accept it. God is very kind and appriciates those who prays and follows Him. Life is very complex and humanity faces a lot of troubles in his/her life. i could bring some examples from my life. There are some situations, that I feel if there is no success (I mean God's help) I cannot overcome that problem. Therefore I pray God to help me and in result I overcome that problem, that means God answered me. I do not know other lives, but in my life i felt a lot of God's help, even I cannot imagine. There are special "suras" and "ayas" for different situation. For example, for success in a competition. I already experinced such "ayas" in competitions and won them, however I did not expect even third place...
In conclusion, i would like to add that God is our creator and it is all in His choice, whether making us happy or successful or unsuccessful in our life. The only thing we must to do: just trust in God and follow his regulations. Only then you can find the happiness of the both worlds.
I already experinced such "ayas" in competitions and won them, however I did not expect even third place...
What are you, the Islamic Tim Tebow?
Instead of crediting your god with helping you win whatever competition it was that you won, shouldn't you be more concerned with why he doesn't help 30,000 children a day win their competition with starvation?
Of course God helps me. Meanwhile it depends on you. God helps those who seek his help and God helps when there is lack of human power. In my point of view if you trust in God, try to follow all his commandments and pray regularly and He definitely helps you.
In is necessary to mention that people should pray to God not only when they feel bad but also when they feel good and they are happy. Only if people do this, God will help them.
A few years ago there was this Christian church in Africa, and a waring tribe burned it down.
It was full of kids... praying presumably.
Guess they didn't pray hard enough? ._.
I always find it curious that an all powerful being would require mortals to pray to him anyway. It would be like myself jealously throwing fits should ants and other small insects not get on their knees and babble about my greatness on a regular basis. Why should I, or god, care about that?
So what if it was full of kids? Kids die everyday, if they pray, or not. Praying "hard enough" doesn't made life like rainbows & butterflies or makes you immortal & be without suffering. Maybe God had called their time on earth to an end, maybe it was time to go home with Him, idk, because i don't know what God's plan is or what's best for me like He does. And praying to God isn't "babbling about His greatness on a regular basis", it's talking with Him. Also, maybe one day you can ask God that. Why SHOULD you care?
... are you asking why I should care about impoverished little kids burning in a church?
Brilliant question asshole. If this is your idea of what an all powerful being's moral obligation to his creation should be do not wonder why so many outside of your cult find you a disgusting, immoral, hypocritical and intellectually deprived bunch.
God helps everyone and always but many people don't believe and most of them aren't ask anything, as God has promised in the Qur’an , we should ask for help always and he will answer because He loves God-fearing and obedient believers.
God helps everyone and always but many people don't believe and most of them aren't ask anything, as God has promised in the Qur’an , we should ask for help always and he will answer because He loves God-fearing and obedient believers.
And if you'd like proof of that, you need only look at what a wonderful, thriving utopia of happiness every country governed by an Islamic theocracy is.
Allah loves his followers, will you ask how Can Allah Love Us?
-When we pray the five obligatory prayers.
-When we pray the voluntary prayers, God's love to us increases.
-Every time we increase our voluntary (Sunnah) prayers, God will strengthen our faith and bless us with piety.
-Allah loves us so much, that when we perform a good deed, He multiplies it by 10 for our account! And when we do one bad deed it will only be recorded as one bad deed
-Allah created Adam with His own hands and granted him and his wife Paradise, and the Angels therein to look after them. This is how much He loves us.
for example " A Muslim brother asked "if Allah loves us, why is there so many problems everywhere?" Some people go through bad phases in life because Allah wants them to turn to Him, so that He may answer their prayers and show them His Mercy. It is a test so that the human can say to Allah (SWT) 'I need you Allah, please help me "
-If you become religious. If you didn't pray before and you have started praying, that means Allah loves you. If you weren't wearing the veil, and you just started to wear it, Allah loves you. If you had bad friends, and you left them, and now you have good friends, then Allah loves you. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) said that Allah gives the religion to those He loves. Allah loves us , Alhamdulilyah
-When we pray the voluntary prayers, God's love to us increases.
-Every time we increase our voluntary (Sunnah) prayers, God will strengthen our faith and bless us with piety.
ok... and blah blah blah... suppose that i do not eat/drink/study/help people/ everyday, i am just praying to god everyday, every hour, every minute, and every second in my room, will he love the one who didn't ever help people for a single day? god sucks, so he only wants us to pray for him... not to help people.
-Allah loves us so much, that when we perform a good deed, He multiplies it by 10 for our account! And when we do one bad deed it will only be recorded as one bad deed
ooh yeah... i'll kill 10 people first, ant then later i'll save a person's life... so it's equal to zero, isn't it? like i did nothing...
-Allah created Adam with His own hands and granted him and his wife Paradise, and the Angels therein to look after them. This is how much He loves us.
hello....:O, some proofs please, where are adam and his wife? where's the paradise or the angel? WHERE ARE THE PROOFS THAT THEY REALLY EXIST???
for example " A Muslim brother asked "if Allah loves us, why is there so many problems everywhere?" Some people go through bad phases in life because Allah wants them to turn to Him, so that He may answer their prayers and show them His Mercy. It is a test so that the human can say to Allah (SWT) 'I need you Allah, please help me "
doesn't it seem like a deed does by someone in order to be prayed by his followers?
and suppose that you're extremely starving, and there's a food next to you, but instead of eating that food, you say : Allah i need you .... please help me.
to hell with that ! you need food! not him!
-If you become religious. If you didn't pray before and you have started praying, that means Allah loves you. If you weren't wearing the veil, and you just started to wear it, Allah loves you.
if i pray to god, it doesn't mean he loves me, but me believe him exists
veil? so god will hate me if i wear a bikini with a t-string? why does god love veil? it's weird that god is so picky-choosy toward veil-wearing-woman, so he hates female westerner? who mostly doesn't wear it...
If you had bad friends, and you left them, and now you have good friends, then Allah loves you. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) said that Allah gives the religion to those He loves. Allah loves us
i think it's better to report those bad friends to their parents or teachers, so they can give him a lesson.
aaaand, about the given religion,
well, i don't accept his given religion. so he hates me?
I'm Christian, I believe it is helpful. He always helps, it's just never obvious to everyone. You have to listen carefully and watch carefully. It may not be what you expected, but it's for the better good and it doesn't always happen right away.
Absolutely agree with you. The Creator, The One who brings everything from non-existence to existence ,The Great Forgiver, The Forgiver, The One who forgives the sins of His slaves time and time again. The Loving, The One who loves His believing slaves and His believing slaves love Him. His love to His slaves is His Will to be merciful to them and praise them:Hence it's meaning is related to the attributes of the Will and Kalam The All-Seeing, The One who Sees all things that are seen by His Eternal Seeing without a pupil or any other instrument. He is our God .
Except for one problem. The theists have not properly shouldered the burden of proof to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that any God exists, let alone specific gods like Allah or Yahweh. To prove that your specific God exists beyond reasonable doubt, there are a few conditions you have to fulfill:
1. Provide logical arguments to prove beyond reasonable doubt why the idea that God does not exist is irrational to believe.
2. Provide logical arguments to prove beyond reasonable doubt why the idea that God does exist is rational to believe.
3. Provide logical arguments to prove beyond reasonable doubt why the idea that no other God than your own (be it Allah, Yahweh, Zeus, etc.) does exist is rational to believe. In order to do so, you need to show that the existence of all other gods is irrational to believe.
Furthermore, what I mean by "logical arguments" also must fulfill two other conditions:
1'. The premises must be true and;
2'. The conclusion must logically follow from the premises.
Until and unless you can fulfill all the above conditions, any belief in God (i.e. any form of theism) should be considered implausible or more implausible than atheism, deism or pantheism.
Look, i don't, and i doubt many other Christians, care whether or not you believe in prayer or any sort of God. We have our faith right? We believe in it. If you don't then woop-dee-doo. I believe he exists and that's enough for me.
I'm not going to waste my time and say "Oh, Yahweh doesn't exist because only my God exists. All other Gods are false". No. because i don't know if it's true or not. i don't have any proof, but they believe in them and i have nothing against it.
Everyone has their own views. I have nothing against that.
Just don't start telling us we need to fulfill any stupid conditions to prove anything to you, who obviously won't believe us no matter what we say.
Changing someones' mind about this sort of thing isn't that easy and people should just let others believe in what they want.
Look, i don't, and i doubt many other Christians, care whether or not you believe in prayer or any sort of God.
Honestly speaking, I don't quite give a flying toss what you think unless you have something intelligent to say.
We have our faith right? We believe in it. If you don't then woop-dee-doo. I believe he exists and that's enough for me.
Again, belief is not knowledge. Knowledge is defined as justified true belief. To say that you believe in something amounts to saying nothing at all. Having faith is worse. Faith is simply belief without evidence. If you're going to believe in anything without evidence, then, by default, you would have to believe in chimeras, fairies, genies, unicorns, cyclops, minotaurs, and even deities like Zeus, Apollo, Thor and the list goes on. You'll be going down a very slippery slope. If believing in anything without evidence is "enough" for you, then so be it. But if you were to say that, then I am well justified to call you a delusional, psychotic fool who has suspended their critical faculties in favour of dogma, rhetoric and lies.
I'm not going to waste my time and say "Oh, Yahweh doesn't exist because only my God exists. All other Gods are false"
And yet you're wasting your time having "faith" and writing an unlettered and unintelligent reply?
Everyone has their own views. I have nothing against that.
I don't have anything against people holding to their views as well if they can logically justify it,
Just don't start telling us we need to fulfill any stupid conditions to prove anything to you, who obviously won't believe us no matter what we say.
Firstly, the "stupid" conditions are standard verification conditions that philosophers, even Christian philosophers, adopt to prove a statement or an argument is logically valid and cogent. If you are not a philosopher, you can be forgiven for not understanding and appreciating the rigour of philosophy. But if you are so judgemental of others, then you are, by definition, against people having their own views. That is not only ironic and contradictory to your previous statement, but also extremely hypocritical of you.
Furthermore, don't you dare say that I won't believe you no matter what. I have said I will change my opinion if someone gives me good reasons to. Until now, you haven't. So don't expect me to change my opinion.
Changing someones' mind about this sort of thing isn't that easy
It is easier than you think.
people should just let others believe in what they want.
You might seem apathetic, but after reading what you have written, you are just pathetic.
Honestly speaking, I don't quite give a flying toss what you think unless you have something intelligent to say.
Well then, define "intelligent" to me. Because honestly speaking, i don't give a "flying toss" what you think either.
then, by default, you would have to believe in chimeras, fairies, genies, unicorns, cyclops, minotaurs...
How does that work? Why do i have to, by default, believe in those things? I believe in what i want. I don't just believe ANYTHING, i believe in things that I myself think are true. You can tell me it's not true, i still won't believe you. No one has really given me solid proof my beliefs are false, so it's not like i'm going to change my mind.
And yet you're wasting your time having "faith" and writing an unlettered and unintelligent reply?
Yes.
I don't have anything against people holding to their views as well if they can logically justify it,
Fine, i agree with you on that one. If someone can give me solid evidence my God does not exist, then okay. You win.
And what i meant by that is, if we started to toss a whole load of bible knowledge towards you, you'll just put us down because you think differently to us. I'm not saying you're wrong in what you think. I'm just saying that if someone WANTS to believe in something, then there's nothing wrong with it. Everyone has their own views. But i do know what you're going at. If someone believe in something stupid, then i would too, try and tell them otherwise. I wouldn't want to see someone doing stupid rituals etc because of some stupid belief. But if they don't believe you the first time, there's no point in trying anymore. Get what i'm trying to say?
Furthermore, don't you dare say that I won't believe you no matter what. I have said I will change my opinion if someone gives me good reasons to. Until now, you haven't. So don't expect me to change my opinion.
My bad then, i may have missed that part out. I cannot give you a reason that is to your standards, seeing as i'm not intelligent enough, to change your mind.
It is easier than you think.
Maybe for some people.
You might seem apathetic, but after reading what you have written, you are just pathetic.
lol. okay.
Another thing is, shouldn't you be posting your views about whether or not Christianity is right in another post that actually argues about it? This one i believe, asked whether or not you think God helps your life and if he answers prayers.
How does that work? Why do i have to, by default, believe in those things?
Because without evidence, you can't make a valued judgement either way. If you believe in God without evidence, then there is nothing stopping you from falling down a very slippery slope.
I don't just believe ANYTHING, i believe in things that I myself think are true.
So you think something is true, but don't have evidence to prove it. Tell me then, how does that work?
No one has really given me solid proof my beliefs are false, so it's not like i'm going to change my mind.
You haven't argued that it is true either. I'm not going to dispute your non-existent arguments because that would make me as retarded as you.
If someone can give me solid evidence my God does not exist, then okay.
Read Bertrand Russell's Celestial Teapot argument. I don't need to prove that he doesn't exist because the burden of proof lies with you since you claim that he exists. Furthermore, I need only to quote the Euthyphro dilemma, the Problem of Evil, Evil-god challenge and Freewill argument to show why he doesn't exist. But, since the burden of proof is not on me, I don't have to.
if we started to toss a whole load of bible knowledge towards you, you'll just put us down because you think differently to us
And I have very good reasons to do so.
I'm just saying that if someone WANTS to believe in something, then there's nothing wrong with it.
Yes there is. It suspends critical thinking. And in terms of religion, it has very disastrous results.
Get what i'm trying to say?
Yes, but I have no reason to believe what you say is true.
I cannot give you a reason that is to your standards, seeing as i'm not intelligent enough, to change your mind.
Your reasons are not logical to believe by any standards of logic. You give Christians and theists a bad name. I have much more respect for Christians such as the Oxford Emeritus Professor Richard Swinburne, whom I have met personally and have immense respect for, because they use logic to justify their beliefs. You, on the other hand, don't exercise logic or rationality.
shouldn't you be posting your views about whether or not Christianity is right in another post that actually argues about it? This one i believe, asked whether or not you think God helps your life and if he answers prayers.
The two are not mutually exclusive questions. If I am challenging a person who claims that God helps people, I am well justified to question the assumption that you make that God exists. If he doesn't, then logically speaking, a non-existent entity cannot help anyone.
God helps us and we need to believe. If we do not believe - what's the reason to live? if God " doesn't help" there can be reasons. Religious people know that hard times are given for people to take positive experience and be stronger
Of course, it is impossible to get everything what you asked God, but if we ask him wishes by good purposes he realizes them. I think we never should lose our hope and wishes to achieve our purposes in the life. We also always ask him to help us in hard situations because he always knows everything about everybody. He also is very kind and he knows who needs his help and kindness.
Im' sure that Gods hepls us always and everywhere, he sees and hears all what happens with us. it is not your imagination, when your prayer is pure, when it is gonna from your heart Gods helps you, I'm totally sure.
God knows everything you desire and wishes. He ONLY can change your life because Allah knows better!, and everything happens because of a reason because Allah knows better! Pray...because HE always listens.
No one of human can't discuss about God's existence. Some people really trust him and try don't lose belief, belief that really help them even in their daily lives, certainly we can't judge them. As for me, to tell the truth I dislike such discussions about God and about his existence, cause I'm sure that actually no one knows such facts, especially about what is happpening above us, i mean there...) however if people belief so..why not?! It's really great sense when even one thing is happened in that way how u want , of course in that moments we can catch ourselves on the idea that it was really fantastic of course with the help of the God!
Because a lot of people want to believe in God whether or not he actually exists, and churches are where people go when they want to shout down their doubts.
"Allāh’s Messenger said: when Allāh loves some person, He sends for Jibrīl and commands him: verily, I love such and such person; you should also love him, so Jibrīl loves him as well. Then Jibrīl proclaims in the heavens that Allāh loves such and such person; you should also love him. Then the residents of the heavens love him as well. Then his love is sent down to the earth (the world)."
GOD is good. Even if you see it as Good Orderly Direction. To breath makes me know there is something greater than me. To see the sun rise, to feel the wind, I know there is something else in control. It is the corruption of religion and politicians who do harm in the name of God that is not good. To kill, in the name of God is not Godly. I wonder at the completion of their life on earth, will these war mongers, people who are currupt and hide behind the cloth of religion, will they have God on their side?
ZEUS is good. Even if you see it as Good Orderly Direction. To breath makes me know there is something greater than me. To see the sun rise, to feel the wind, I know there is something else in control. It is the corruption of religion and politicians who do harm in the name of Zeus that is not good. To kill, in the name of Zeus is not Zeusly. I wonder at the completion of their life on earth, will these war mongers, people who are currupt and hide behind the cloth of religion, will they have Zeus on their side?
Now, I really can remember cases when, i thought that it God help me, maybe it just autosuggestion , but I don't think so. God exist everywhere, without faith in better, without faith in that God make all, people can't exist. Faith in all of us.
Not to show off my faith but in the sense of being proud of being Catholic I'll say; when I pray to God it helps. He has guided me, and has answered my prayers. Quite frankly, why debate about prayers, because while they do work for the faithful, the people who don't believe can't really connect, so obviously they have no actual opinion to place here. sadly they have no one to guide them; they've never prayed. I pray for them, and other good Catholics, Christian and other people should too; they need it
i try one times to pray in makkah.. i say god you are the powerfull one give my father good bussnis..after 2 mounth i swer my father he has partner with some bussnis man in gold market..if u belive from ur heart the god is one he make evry thing in the world and u love hem ..belive me he will with u evry time..
Make a Dua to Allah!
Let Others Make a Dua For You…
Consider this Hadeeth of the prophet (SAWS): The Prophet (saws) said:
Whenever you make a supplication for another believer and he is not present, an angel will say ‘and same to you.’
Enter Your Dua Anonymously Now (below) !
Let Hundreds Pray For You !
Dear brothers and sisters: Trials, tribulations and challenges are part of every person’s life. However, to counter that, Allah has provided us a very powerful tool – and that is the tool of du’a or asking
Allah for help and his mercy when we need it. And we need it all the time…. Equally importantly, we forget at times that Allah has also provided us the opportunity to dramatically increase the effectiveness of our own Dua’s by encouraging us to make dua’s for other brothers and sisters in
Islam. Consider this Hadith by the Prophet (saws):
“The supplication that gets the quickest answer is the one made by one Muslim for another in his absence.”
…… Reported by Abu Daw’ud and Tirmidhi
This site provides you that opportunity – You can enter a Dua (Supplication) below (anonymously) and hundreds who visit this site can make that dua for you! Basically, you are letting hundreds of other people make that Dua for you to Allah on your behalf.
Imagine!
If Allah accepts the Dua of even ONE person who can make that Dua for you, your wishes can be granted.
One of the Dua that has higher chances of being is the Dua of a Muslim for his brother without the latter’s knowledge.
Think of the many people who can make dua for you and the many angels’ duas you can get by making dua for others.
So, you should do the following three steps:
Enter your Dua (Supplication to Allah) below. Enter anything you desire from Allah directly. You do not have to enter your name. You can use an alias or an abbreviation. Others who see your dua below can make a dua to Allah for you. The more make the dua for you, the more the chances of your Dua being accepted.
You should make a Dua for all others who have entered their dua below. You will not only increase the chances of their dua being heard BUT you will also have angels making a dua for you (see hadith above)
Send the Web address of this site to as many as you can. Remember, there is nothing to lose. The more people can make dua for you (the one you enter below), the more chances of your dua (supplication) being heard by Allah.

Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira: Make Dua and be assured of being answered, and know that Allah does not answer a Dua from a careless heart which is not concentrating. Source: Tirmidhi in article by Abdul Malik Mujahid, 31 doas to choose from
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The slave will receive a response so long as his dua does not involve sin or severing of family ties, and so long as he is not hasty.” It was said, “What does being hasty mean?” He said: “When he says, ‘I made dua and I made dua, and I have not seen any response,’ and he gets frustrated and stops making dua.” Narrated by al-Bukahari, 6340; Muslim, 2735.
It was narrated that Faddalah ibn ‘Ubayd said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard a man making dua after his prayer, but he did not send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “This man is in a hurry.” Then he called him and said to him or to someone else: “When any one of you has finished praying (and makes dua), let him start by praising Allah, then let him send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then after that let him ask for whatever he wants.” Al-Albani said: it is a saheeh hadeeth. Dua (Supplication) – The Tool for Asking what you want…
88 COMMENTS
Trials, tribulations and challenges are part of every person’s life. However, to counter that, Allah has provided us a very powerful tool – and that is the tool of du’a or asking Allah for help and his mercy when we need it. And we need it all the time…
However, to understand trials and tribulations that we face in our daily lives, we also need to understand the topic of "Sins" and how our sins may be related to our trials and tribulations.
The better we understand the ghastly nature of our sins, and the rate at which we accumulate them, along with their undesirable impact on our daily lives and the hereafter, the more it can propel us away from committing sins in general and the more it will drive us to seek forgiveness for our sins – through making the right Dua’s for us and for others.
Ibn Qayyim provided one of the great descriptions of sins and the impact of sins in this life and after. Here is a very short summary of what he compiled about how our sins impact our lives. [islam-qa.com]
Sins deprive a person of provision (rizq) in this life. In Musnad Ahmad it is narrated that Thawbaan said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said: ‘A man is deprived of provision because of the sins that he commits.’” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 4022, classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah).
A sinful person experiences a sense of alienation (indifference) with his Lord, and between him and other people. One of the salaf had said that he could see the impact of disobedience to Allah (in some aspects of his daily life).
A person who commits sins sees that things become difficult for him. In any matter that he turns to, he finds the way blocked or he finds it difficult. By the same token, for the one who fears Allah, things are made easy for him.
‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: “Good deeds make the face light, give light to the heart, and bring about ample provision, physical strength and love in people’s hearts. Bad deeds make the face dark, give darkness to the heart, and bring about physical weakness, a lack of provision and hatred in people’s hearts.”
Sin breeds sin until it dominates a person and he cannot escape from it. Sin weakens a person’s willpower. It gradually strengthens his will to commit sin and weakens his will to repent until there is no will in his heart to repent at all… so he seeks forgiveness and expresses repentance, but it is merely words on the lips, like the repentance of the liars, whose hearts are still determined to commit sin and persist in it. This is one of the most serious diseases that is likely to lead to doom. He becomes desensitized and no longer find sins abhorrent, so it becomes his habit, and he is not bothered if people see him committing the sin or talk about him.
So, we can easily see that by engaging in sins, we are not only making the prospects of our after life (integral part of Islamic faith) bleak but sins can greatly and actively contribute to the difficulties of our daily lives.
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself…” [al-Nisa’ 4:79]
Whether we encounter challenges in earning a living, in our family affairs, or other matters of life, the burden of sins greatly inhibits us from seeking the ultimate blessings of Allah and to have the potential of leading a good life in this world and the hereafter.
As for making Dua and the enormous potential it holds to help us ask for forgiveness and other things, the following provides a short description.
The following are some of the prophet’s sayings about making Dua to Allah.
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The dua’ of any one of you will be answered so long as he does not seek to hasten it, and does not say, ‘I made dua’ but I had no answer.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5865; Muslim, 2735, from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah).
In the hadeeth which was narrated by al-Tirmidhi from Abu Hurayrah, who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘There is no man who prays to Allah and makes dua’ to Him, and does not receive a response. Either it will be hastened for him in this world, or it will be stored up for him in the Hereafter, so long as he does not pray for something sinful, or to cut the ties of kinship, or seek a speedy response.’ They said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what does seeking a speedy response mean?’ He said, ‘Saying, “I prayed to my Lord and He did not answer me.”’” (Al-Tirmidhi, 3859; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 852).
Some people follow practices that are not sanctioned by the Quran or Hadith such as repeating some of Allah’s names a few times. A number of scholars have said that “The words mentioned in the question are phrases that are narrated in the Qur’aan and Sunnah, but saying that they must be repeated [so many] number of times is an innovated matter which should not be followed. Rather we should mention them during our dua’s and address Allah by all His beautiful names, without singling out some names or stating that they should be recited a certain number of times or at certain times, making that up ourselves. We should adhere to what was narrated in sharee’ah concerning certain times, places or situations connected to a particular dua’; if no such details were narrated in sharee’ah then we should not make them up ourselves because that is encroaching upon the rights of Prophethood.
In the hadeeth it says: “One of you may be answered so long as he is not hasty and says, ‘I said dua’ but I got no response.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6340; Muslim, 2735.
In Saheeh Muslim (2736) it says: “A man’s (dua’s) may be answered so long as it does not involve sin or severing the ties of kinship or hastening.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, what does hastening mean?” He said: “When he says, ‘I made dua’ and I made dua’ but I did not see any response,’ so he gets discouraged and stops making dua’.”
The dua’ should not involve sin or severing of the ties of kinship, as stated in the hadeeth quoted above: “A man’s (dua’s) may be answered so long as he does not involve sin or severing the ties of kinship …”
According to the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah: “Make dua’ to Allah when you are certain of a response.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 245.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Know that Allah does not answer a dua from a distracted heart.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3479; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 245.
In the hadeeth it says: [The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] mentioned the man who undertakes a lengthy journey and is disheveled and covered with dust, and he stretches his hands towards heaven saying, ‘O Lord, O Lord,’ when his food is haraam, his drink is haraam, his clothes are haraam. He is nourished with haraam, so how can he be granted a response?
I am a Muslim and i am praying, and those things which i asked God to give me he gave to me and even more. God will always listen to his prayers and he will help them in all cases. Everything depend on us, if someone is praying just for her/his benefit, it is not praying, because when you pray you have to pray from heart, with clean hole and if you are a prayer person you must differ from others and that person who prays he must have very strong belief and that person will get everything she/he wants. God will answer that person!
A man asked the Prophet about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, "When will the Hour be?" The Prophet said, "What have you prepared for it?" The man said, "Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle." The Prophet said, "You will be with those whom you love." We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (i.e., "You will be with those whom you love.") Therefore, I love the Prophet, Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and I hope that I will be with them beCause of my love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs.
He might not answer now but if you believe in him he will answerer you in heaven he loves how dare u say he doesn't he is my god he listens just believe and when you die you will find out
Just imagine if there was no God, the hypothesis about God, from where did they appeared? We were all created by God and at the end after death we will go to the other world and you all will see that God really exist. You all saw lost of mysteries in your life, all these are mysteries of God. All those miracles which happened in your life, they happened because God wanted it and because he saw that you need it. Just sit for a wile and just think and you will get yourself that God exist.
this to you is a valid argument for the existence & influence of a god? a bunch of naked claims and a suggestion to 'find god' via confirmation bias?
Its easy to imagine there is no god in a world where there is not an iota of objective evidence for a god's existence or influence. it takes no imagination at all.
When a Christian is asked why Their all loving God allows children to be molested and to be victims of cancers and genocide, they cite 'free will' and how god must preserve 'free will' as 'he didn't want us to be a race of robots.' the bible says that if you want something and you ask for it in prayer, it shall be granted. yet every Christian child who is a victim of cancer , molestation or genocide, would pray , asking his god to intervene. we know that there is no intervention and that free will is just an excuse for a likely nonexistent god's inability to intervene. yet Christians still pray that they will 'get that job' and other petty things while children of the world suffer the cruelest of fates without an iota of help from a god. 'free will' cannot exist with 'omniscience', and no prayers are answered if children who pray for an end to their molestation, die at the hands of their tormentors. 'god' is one contradiction after another, and every argument for god is logically fallacious. mostly but not limited to appeals to emotion, and consequence.
ok-good topic yes God ALWAYS answers my prayers and the best ones are often with a resounding NO-I have learned the most out of life when God gives me a no and expects a little bit MORE out of me than just whining to him to make my life easier
im a christian and god answers all my prayers. sometimes he says no, and i havent won the lottery yet!!!! but i have friends who have been healed by prayer and seen some awesome things happen
He dose answer prayers but he dose so in a subtle way. he dose not give you things he simply gives you signs that are meant to guide you along your way to what you need. He also blesses those he loves with success and happiness. God helps you, you may not see hi you may not know he is there but he is.
Not really, when prayer was the case in asking to wake up next to a blonde in bed everyday and a Lamborghini in the driveway, I realized that it takes work to get these things.
You need just wake up every morning with Blondie and Lamborghini ? Nothing else ? You should work always to get something , but God don't help people in aim of doing a sin things, because believer will wake up next to his wife and asking not for this stuff but something that on hundreds time better that expensive piece of iron chunk , he will ask for salvation in the Day of Judgement and the torment of Hell, because the believers are fear God and his brutal punishment in hell and in the grave. You response ur answer cuz you don't know anything of God if you don't know , don't make such a stupid answers .... or Lamborghini is ur God? make a research about it...
oh my, maybe you need some psychological help if you believe what your saying. Where to you get these ideas from ? Have you ever experienced or seen anything of the such?
What the hell are you talking about ? There is no reason for laughing , CZ in future all atheists will have great punishment. Firstly in the grave after the death and after in the Day of Great Judgment. Prayer with kind a sin God doesn't answer...
No. It is not God that wants atheists punished, it is you who wants atheists to be punished. You can't blame atheists from not believing in God, because there isn't any evidence. If God were really good, he/she/it would show undeniable proof to all non-believers- but no, the God you believe in hasn't done that, and has much preferred to damn all those innocent souls to an eternity of hell because he/she/it is evil- or he/she it just doesn't exist.
Too bad you are too gullible to understand our point of view.
"Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian and Disposer of all affairs. To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth: and those who reject the Signs of Allah, it is they who will be in loss. "He is God; there is no god but He, He is the Knower of the unseen and the visible; He is the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate. He is God, there is no God but He. He is the King, the All-Holy, the All-Peace, the Guardian of Faith, the All-Preserver, the All-Mighty, the All-Compiler, the All-Sublime. Glory be to God, above that they associate! He is God the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. All that is in the heavens and the earth magnifies Him; He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." (Holy Qur'an, Chapter 59)
Ohhh Yeah According to the HOLY QURAN Atheist will be punish , and it's will be so cruel cuz God is very Cruel to nonbelievers.
-Allah will make disbelievers' lives miserable in this world and torture them forever after they die. 2:114
- Allah will leave the disbelievers alone for a while, but then he will compel them to the doom of Fire. 2:126
-Those who disbelieve will be fuel for the Fire. 3:10
-Those who disbelieve, promise them a painful doom. 3:21
-Those who disbelieve will be burnt in the Fire. 3:116
-The Fire is prepared for disbelievers. 3:131
-Unbelievers will be tormented forever with fire. When their skin is burned off, a fresh skin will be provided. 4:56
-When nonbelievers die, the angels will deliver to them doom and degradation. 6:93
-Allah made hell to be a dungeon for disbelievers. 17:8
I didn't take this from my brain , i read this in Holy Books , If you are interested just read it and maybe in near future you will have a faith.
I didn't take this from my brain , i read this in Holy Books , If you are interested just read it and maybe in near future you will have a faith.
Wow, you're acting exactly like that Sromm dude...
Your "holy" books are NOT proof at all. Listen to yourself here. The holy books were written by "People" (with shoddy literature skills) who happen to have an "imagination." There are writers in this world that can create literature more believable, wonderful and much more inspiring than this. If God or the Angels or whatever had actually writ this, then they must lack the superior knowledge they are supposed to have.
I know you didn't take this from your brain, you took this from the brains of the ancient humans of the past who writ the so called "holy" books. Don't you think it would be obvious for them to say non-believers will suffer, believers will be happy? They did this to control the masses. They seemed to have tricked you easily. Don't be fooled. See this in a different perspective, and see these books for the fairy tales that they really are. I know you would be reading this in ignorance and disgust- or perhaps maybe you wouldn't read this at all just because I don't seem to believe the same things that you believe. I just don't want anything to do with all the sadistic Gods that most people believe in, I just want to live a happy life and help others with their lives as well.
What I don't understand with most Gods is the guilty fact that no matter how well you live your life and no matter how much good you've done (Saving lives, giving to the poor, etc) You will always seem to be punished with eternal pain after death, just for not believing. And yet, believers who sin are easily forgiven. lol. This just shows how petty and base Gods are. Haven't you ever thought about how God sometimes acted like a spoilt child? Not so "All-mighty" huh?
"holy" books are NOT proof at all. Listen to yourself here. The holy books were written by "People" (with shoddy literature skills) who happen to have an "imagination."
For you books are not proof because you don't believe in God. I have read that God says that " Even if you call many writers join together and write even one poem from Holy Books , you will not be able to write it , cuz it's impossible... Hey man have you ever read Holy books? You know that believers helps to poor people and to all just ask help and you will never be rejected, that's why Almsgiving is the 4th pillar in Islam, pls read about it in my comments to other people , i Already answered it ... No one no whose sins are forgiven just God knows... I really advice u to read cuz for what are we living in this world? We are slaves and we should pray to God and ask help ....
For you books are not proof because you don't believe in God.
You accept the existence of narratives and fictional story books and yet you are gullible enough to believe those books are viable and historically accurate. I just don't see a mere book with magical Tall Tales where the weird and unusual happen on a daily basis as sufficient evidence, but lets face it, none of that miracle stuff never seems to ever take place in the real world.
I have read that God says that'
Yes, you've read it. As in, straight from the "holy" scriptures. You need to realize that you aren't using any evidence to back up your claims instead of "I read that God said so."
you will not be able to write it , cuz it's impossible... Hey man have you ever read Holy books?
Yes, you could be able to write it- well not you of course. How hard is it to write in a book and say, "Those who disbelieve will be fuel for the Fire." 3:10-- as you've cited in a previous verse. See how literary simplistic it is?
"Cursed are they, the non-believers.
Cursed are they, who stray from the truth.
Cursed are they, who walk the path of evil.
All of the unfaithful deceased shall have their souls be reaped by Kyndraeth- Harbinger of Death, from the mortal realm- to be released from the confines of their lifeless husks to be plunged straight down into Oblivion, where they shall be condemned for eternal solitude- immortal from the tides of time." -- See, it is easy to make up your own verse, but of course, there are way more writers out there with the skill to make a much more "better" holy scripture.
No one no whose sins are forgiven just God knows...
Oh, so God was just lying when it is said over and over again for like 1000 times that God will purge all disbelievers in eternal flames- despite being good (Why is it fire anyway? Why can't it be lightning? or something more painful?)
We are slaves and we should pray to God and ask help ....
This world is a test for everyone. We have been sent in this world to be tested. For every test, there is a result at the end. If the results and the outcome is good then there is a reward for us. But if the results and the outcome is not good then there is punishment.
For this great test, the reward in the hereafter is also great and similarly the punishment is also very severe. And for this punishment, those that fail will have to spend the rest of their time in Jahannam (Hell).
There will be fierce looking angels inflicting various types of punishment for the different sins committed by the people. The Qur’an and Hadith have mentioned the different types of punishments.
For example, boiling water will be poured over the heads, lips will be cut with scissors of fire and so on. The fire of Jahannam has turned black because of its heat. There is no light and it will be pitch black. The food will be poisonous thorny trees and the drink will be the blood and pus from the washing of wounds.
Who will be the inhabitants of Hell? I think people should cry then laugh cuz it's terrible.
Why don't you prove every single one of your statements? All I have seen here is that your repeat your religious teachings as rhetoric without providing any sort of unfalsifiable evidence to back up your argument.
Sooo..you don't believe that a merciful & powerful God would let any of His creations burn in Hell or be tormented forever?...so what you are saying..or what you believe..is that EVERY single one of God's creations get the privilege to rejoice & heaven..even those atheist who may hate God get to be at His presence to serve Him & glorify Him forever? hmm..strange..
Well, I don't think any theist has conclusively disputed the Problem of Evil and Evil God challenge. Even if you accept the Kalam Cosmological and Teleological Arguments, you are merely reduced to a form of deism. If a deist God does exist, he, by definition, cannot help anyone or answer any prayer.
haha. i agree but still in all seriousness thats not how god works for people who believe in him. prayers are supposed to be humble. i don't believe in god but won't deny he doesn't help people just based on the fact that they believe he exists.
It seems that you could pray to a rock and you would have the same 3 outcomes If you had prayed to God.
1.Your prayer has been answered. You got what you wanted HAZAAAA praise the rock!
2.It does not happen, this is because the mighty rock thinks you are not ready, you do not deserve it and you should do it yourself because the rock thinks this is a luxury
3. Other-- It happens but not to the extent you wanted it to this means do the rest yourself.
So what is the difference between praying to the mighty Rock and God?
---Do not know if this has been mentioned yet-----
So what is the difference between praying to the mighty Rock and God?
---Do not know if this has been mentioned yet-----
It has. I've replaced God with tampon or "Great Bucket of Shit" in posts on here quite a while ago, but the results were the same. Rock, tampon, milk jug, God, shit bucket; They all answer prayer the same way.
hahaha , what a funny debate in 2012. So what can you pray for, only realistic things, can I pray for green skin ?
The Ultimate Proof that god/gods/biblegod doesn't exist:
->
To bring this simplest and most logical proof, I'll use a logic diagram type of chart:
In 3 simple steps I will bring the proofs:
1) either god exists or he doesn't.
-> If he doesn't, goto The End.
-> If he does, then next:
2) if god does exist, either he cares for us and wants us to know about him and his will and plan or he doesn't.
-> If he doesn't then:
Intermediate Conclusion:
If god does exist, but he doesn't care for us to know about him and his will and plan, then a) we should immediately burn every religious books as they are all forgeries and b) we shouldn't seek god since he doesn't want us to know about him.
-> if he does, then next:
3) if god cares for us and wants us to know about him and his will and plan, then since it's clearly established and a very known fact that there are thousands of very different and irreconcilliable gods (note a) then:
-> either he's incompetent in making himself known to ALL of humanity in a very consistent manner thruout the World and History, or
-> he did it right once, but yet he's incompetent in preserving the vital truth!!!
According to all the major religious sources, this truth is absolutely vital since men are to receive life-long blessings, answers to prayers, authorities, rewards and state of Eternal life (basically: in Blissful Paradise or Torments of Hell) solely based on their belief in Him or not (moreover this equals to beliefs in their ancestors creeds!!!)
-> in BOTH CASES god appears to be totally incompetent!!!!
Conclusion 1:
So the only conclusion we can reach is either "Almigthy" god is totally incompetent or he doesn't exist!!!
-> if god is totally incompetent he's therefore NOT perfect and FAR from it!! Then goto Conclusion 2.
-> if god doesn't exist then goto The End.
Conclusion 2:
If god is totally incompetent in that matter:
- then how else incompetent is he regarding ALL the matters that directly concern us?!!
- Then who would trust him??
- Who would trust his abilities to take the right decisions for us??
- Who would trust his judging abilities to correctly send us to Blissful Paradise or Tormenting Hell?? (Isn't he much too old to correctly read the right page and the right information from his Book of Life?! Did he write it correctly in the first place?!)
- Who would trust that his Blissful Paradise is not plagued by forgiven (repentant on earth) liars, conspirators, stealers, murderers, etc. who will get at it again and rotten our peaceful life again?!!!
I tell you believers: if you still believe in your god/s after these perfectly logical demonstrations I would be very worried if I were you!!! or you're highly unconscious!!!
But in reality just relax, because thank god he's just imaginary!!!
Why are you laughing ? I disagree with your arguments because they are without proof , smth strange came to your mind and you just decided that this debate is so funny and you know everything like scientist , you are absolutely wrong.... In Islam we have proof to all questions that you have because this religion from God and it's unique. Are you laughing because of Punishment in the Grave ? and you don't believe in the life after the death? You know when your time will come you realize that you are nothing without God , you are insect in this huge world. According to one prophet fellow campaigner Al Bukhari , Prophet Muhammad ( saw) said that punishment in the grave will be when ur funeral finished and all ur relatives and people go away, two angels approach the deceased and ask three questions,
a) Who is your lord?
b) What is your religion? and
c) Who is he (Rasulullah)?
A believer will answer all three questions and he will be honored with the clothing of Jannah ( Paradise). The window of Jannah will be opened for him and he will enjoy the sight of Jannah. On the contrary, a disbeliever will express regret at not being able to answer the questions. Upon that, an angel who is blind and deaf is appointed to punish him.
Do you know that after this punishment , next step it's punishment in the Hell for atheists and sinners, and Paradise- Jannah for believers...... There are many arguments that God is Exist, and after the death you will realize it but it is toooo late
"I disagree with your arguments because they are without proof"
End where's your proof? Your magic book that's true because it says says it's true? Science has a hell of a lot more credit than a magic book. We can observe the world around us for an hour and know more than one would if he read any form of scripture.
With regard to the question of whether the punishment in the grave is continuous or it may stop:
Ibn al-Qayyim said:
The answer is that the punishment in the grave is of two types:
A type which is continuous, apart from what has been narrated in some ahaadeeth which say that it will be reduced during the period between the two blasts of the Trumpet, then when they are raised from their graves, they will say:
“Woe to us! Who has raised us up from our place of sleep.” [Yaa-Seen 36:52 – interpretation of the meaning].
Further evidence that this punishment will be continuous is to be seen in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
“The Fire, they are exposed to it, morning and afternoon” [Ghaafir 40:46]
This is also indicated by the hadeeth of Samurah which was narrated by al-Bukhaari, about the dream in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw that being done to him (the person who was being punished in the grave) until the Day of Resurrection.
And by the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas about the story of the two palm branches, where the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prayed that the punishment (of the people in the two graves) would be reduced as long as the palm branches did not dry out, so the lessening of the punishment was connected only to the period of time that the branches remained fresh.
And by the hadeeth of Rabee’ ibn Anas from Abu’l-‘Aaliyah from Abu Hurayrah, then he [the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)] came to some people whose heads were being smashed with rocks, and every time they were smashed, they were then restored, and they would have no respite from that.
And by the story in al-Saheeh of the man who put on two garments and strutted about in an arrogant manner, so Allaah caused the earth to swallow him up, and he will remain sinking down into it until the Day of Resurrection.
And by the hadeeth of al-Baraa’ ibn ‘Aazib about the story of the kaafir for whom a door to Hell will be opened (in his grave) and he will look upon his place in Hell until the Hour comes. This was narrated by Ahmad, and in some versions it was said that that a hole will be made in his grave and he will feel its distress and smoke until the Resurrection.
The second kind: which will last for a while, and then stop.
This is the punishment of some sinners whose sins are not so great; they will be punished in accordance with their sins, then the punishment will be reduced, just as they will be punished in the fire then the punishment will end.
The punishment may be stopped by du’aa’, charity, seeking forgiveness or the reward of Hajj – this may reach the deceased from some of his relatives or others.
(al-Rooh, p. 89)
The last part of this passage answers the second part of your question. We ask Allaah to bestow His mercy upon us. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad.
Can you please provide some proof that doesn't use Islamic teaching as an example? If you use Islamic teaching, the Qu'ran, anything like that, then you're simply proving that Islam can prove Islam right, such circular logic is not proof.
I have no problem with you believing what you want to believe, but I don't feel that you should claim that your beliefs are truth unless you can prove that they are such.
One Day you will understand that without God you are nothing,it will happen when you became ill and old , or who knows maybe today , no one know but God will test you.No one will never write a Book like Holy books because It's from God and angels look after it. You know there are many arguments that this religion is true and that God exist.
You know there are many arguments that this religion is true and that God exist.
Yes, false evidence based entirely on faith. Don't you forget that there are way more viable evidence that show useful to disproving the existence of God. And are you completely unaware how sexist, contradictory and misogynistic your holy books are? It's clear that the men that wrote them thousands of years ago didn't respect women. Very God-like don't you think?
HE gave YOU Another Day To LIVE Another CHANCE to do GOOD
I give myself the chance to live another day. I do good to please no one because doing good is good in itself. Any one who acts morally in order to please someone else or acts morally under the command of someone else isn't moral. In fact, he/she would be very immoral.

Well, seeing as Singapore has an land area of about 700 sq.km, plus the fact that a studio apartment here costs nearly in excess of £200,000... I mean, I can live on my own since my parents have about 4 other condo units. It's just more convenient for me to pay them a rent monthly and share their house which is closer to the city area, and consequently more expensive (the house I'm living in now is worth about £1m...)
I have found in my life that if there is a god, it doesn't interfere with the personal affairs of humankind in any direct way. It doesn’t matter if you are extremely devout, or an apostate.
When a person prays, they always have a fifty percent chance of gaining what they are praying for regardless of what it is or whether their intentions are pure. They either get it, or they don't, fifty fifty. If they do, praise be to God. If they don't... praise be to God. Either way we see it as the will of God, or Allah or Jesus etc.
So if the outcome is going to be by the will of the deity anyway, what would be the point of praying? So the deity knows that you really want it? No, because the deity is all knowing, and already knows what is in our hearts desire. To show that we are dedicated and faithful to the deity? No, because again, the deity is already all knowing and wouldn't need any action from you to show proof of your devotion.
I've discovered a very miraculous thing, call it a revelation if you want, I call it common sense. I've discovered that you could pray to a coffee mug and get the same results as if you were praying to a god. Sometimes you get what you want, sometimes you don't, it’s entirely in the will of the coffee mug... praise be to Coffee Mug.
Does God/Allah/Jesus/Vishnu/FSM/Zeus/Odin/Ra help us in our life?
No. The deities of our species’ history do not exist in reality. There may or may not be a god, I honestly don’t know. But the past attempts to explain or interpret this idea of a god are just that, interpretations. As personal as a definition of true love or beauty, an interpretation of a god is the individual’s attempt at explaining things they do not understand and fantasizing about what they would do to help or judge the world if they had godlike powers. If a person is bitter and judgmental, their interpretation of god will be the same if they believe in one. If a person is completely loving and all forgiving, their god will possess the same characteristics. Even if the god in question has the same name, or falls under the same religion as other people, the interpretation, no matter how much scripture exists to contradict the interpretation, will always relate to the person formulating it. God does not define us, we define God. Man made God in his own image.
Now, this is not to say that we freely develop these interpretations, they may be personal to us, but these interpretations are contingent upon causal factors just like everything else in the universe. Our upbringing, society, experiences, emotions, physiology, even our basic primal instinct of the will to exist and procreate are all factors in everything that makes us, us. And those same causal factors play a role in developing our outlook on things that are subjective, true love, beauty, ugliness, good, bad, god, and devil.
What is it that helps us in our life? Many things do, but not deities. Education, technology, empathy, understanding, critical thinking, acceptance, tolerance, oneness… oddly enough even the belief in a deity is possible in helping us in our life through developing hope or security in a fear and hate filled world, but it is when this belief in a god is an element of discrimination, intolerance, oppression, destruction, etc., that it can be viewed as a bad thing or a hindrance to the species' progression.
One thing that I am convinced of, is that if there is a sentient entity in existence that possess the qualities of mans invention called “God.” It’s obvious by one look at the way things are on this planet, that the all powerful, all knowing, all moral entity does not interfere in the personal affairs of the people on this planet.
Coffee Mug on the other hand, holds my coffee, allows me the ability to take careful sips from its hallowed crown. I am able to physically see it, hold it, and taste from it so I don't need blind faith to know it's there for me. It doesn't develop raving jealousy when I decide to instead partake from the delicate taste of what Teacup has to offer in the evenings during an after-dinner delicacy. Doesn't require sustenance in the form of monetary gain, and many many other more tangible, beneficial qualities... Praise be to Coffee Mug.
This is an interesting debate because all who believe in god do so without questioning why god has to exist in the first place. I think the human mind is so complex that in order to quell our angst we have created a greater power that we believe protects us from all the bad in the world. A long time ago I was exposed to religion and as a child believed the bible stories taught to me at Sunday school. Later on I began to not buy into the bible so much as just believe there was a supreme being. Now I think the most rational thing to believe is that the religious texts are partially correct in that there were influential spiritual speakers who gathered a great number of followers because they had charisma, so much so that we speak of them even today. Humans have always been attracted to charismatic leaders, because if they are delivering the right message at the right time, we will begin to idolize them. I'm not saying that these leaders didn't exist or lied, just that they have been terribly misquoted and when their messages are boiled down to the essences, they are probably telling us things that most of us intuitively know in our hearts about what's right and wrong. If it's wrong we feel uncomfortable, if it's right, barring all religious propaganda, we feel comfortable with it. We don't need a god to tell us when we are wrong, we just have to listen to ourselves and be honest with ourselves.
All the promises of eternal damnation or eternal peace in the after life are meant to modify human behaviour. We need to see that heaven and hell are right here in this plane of existence and personal choice will dictate which way our lives go and therefore the lives of those we hold sway over. A better world needs better individuals.
We can be morally upright without the existence of God. To quote the Physics Nobel Laureate Prof. Steven Weinberg, "Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."
It seems to me that it is a fundamental dishonesty to try and show that theists are "better" in any way when they themselves propagate falsehood and the indoctrination of children.
You are doing evil with this post. You are spreading lies and falsehoods, turning the children of God from there father, in doing these things you are acting as an agent of satan whether you know it or not. Your weak faith made you vulnerable and his agents have entered your soul and now use you as a vessel of his deceit. Repent you sins before God, submit your self to his forgiveness and abandon you vain pride. Your arrogance offends God.
Because he is not a person he is an immortal all powerful GOD oh sorry correction he is THE immortal all powerful GOD. He can do what ever the hell he wants.
It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did God create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand.
Pure prayer does not help at all. It's just your imagination. It may drive you, but it doesn't really do anything. That surgeon was the reason why you survived that injury, not because you prayed to God for help. A question to the people saying "yes" to god answering prayer, would you rather pray to god to save your life from a critical injury or go to a secular hospital and get help?
if god is just as merciful and benevolent as people says, as a student, then I don't have to study day and night to go to university... I'll just ask the god to give me THE BEST MARKS on my tests... the presence of hospital, government, police, and everything we need in this modern world proves that god doesn't want to help us, and if he does, then we don't need the presence of those things I've mentioned, because god will help every people. Want some proofs?
Take a look at the inhabitants of African countries, most of them are suffering from hunger, and many have dead.
And in east-west countries, it is said that terrorists gather there.... That proves god DIDN'T help us at all, why didn't he give some food to the hungry people? why doesn't he stop the terrorism activity if he really does exist? did he purposely let 3,000 people to die at WTC? why didn't he stop the plane that was going to ram into WTC?
if you want some more proofs, you already got a thousand of them everywhere.
You Know that, people of faith understand everything that happens in our world today. Do you know why do we live on this planet? For what do we live? Who created us? We can not appear out of nowhere? am I right? and everything on earth came by the wish of God. He is our creator, he is owner of day and night,of the planets, animals, flowers, plants, and the proof of this is the book of God, the Holy Quran. Now in our modern world there are wars, death, starvation, suicide, illness, fear, loss of property. People became angry, because of problems in their lives. All of this was given earlier in the sacred book, that God has send to people through the angel Gabriel, just for checking people. Every believer knows and believe that this life is only a test, we must take the test in spite of all difficulties and challenges overtake man in all his life's journey, but this is only testing of the patience of man, because of this, people pray to God for asking a patience and wisdom instead of Lamborghini as it Lambarzhini piece of iron, which cant save you on Judgement Day. Muslim and Christans are follow the religion of God and have patience dispite of all problems, because they are religious. What about your marks? ohh who will help you if even didn't try even to read your assignment ? I would like to say work hard, If you don't do anything to get your goal your ayou will not get it, cuz you should work firstly and after ask a support. Try to do it and you will change your mind about that God doesn't exist cuz God Is Exist and there are many arguments just read them in Holy Books , Good luck!.........

I'd like to say that you're not a science maniac like me. I'm sure you've heard Stephen Hawking's speech regarding the existence of God. I have a theory which supports my arguments:
(please read this before you dispute my argument again)

So, where's the proof that God really loves all mankind?
It really makes me sick if someone who says himself to be the most benevolent guy in the universe, let many people to die. judgment day? oh, I'll wait for it to come... nope, it'll never come XD
I would like to say work hard, If you don't do anything to get your goal your you will not get it, cuz you should work firstly and after ask a support.
There are many cases in which people had studied sooooo hard and yet they didn't pass in the test. Who is to blame? It's gotta be the God. and suppose that one of the student was very depressed because of not passing the test, and he committed a suicide. And later, if the god ask him why he committed suicide, if I were him, I'll say: because you never help me god...T_T
God Is Exist and there are many arguments just read them in Holy Books , Good luck!
I don't read a book which always fools people with its nonsense stories
and one more thing dude, I also don't believe in angels (Gabriel) or devils or whatever that can't be proven scientifically. I'll believe them if I can see or touch them
Wouldn’t happen to be any conflict of interest present, would there?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t arguments generated to support or dispute theories, and not the other way around?
Theories are not supporting material to arguments Mr. Science Maniac. Saying that you have a theory that supports your argument, whether it is your own or someone else’s does not affect the validity of your argument.
that's halfway right, but people make arguments based on available theories you know. it's just like when you're saying there are sun and moon because scientists and your science book said so (this is an example). that's a statement, and you have the proof for that don't you? i was also doing the same
Every culture has had its gods. The ancient agrarian cultures had their fertility gods; the Greeks and Romans had their pantheon; Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have their one god of all. At all times and in all places people have thought that there is more to life than the material world around us.
Belief in a god or gods, it seems, arises naturally the world over. It seems that there is some element common to all human experience that causes us to look for something transcendent on which to build our lives, to ask the question Does God exist? and to affirm, at least in some sense, that he does.
We live in a world where millions doubt the existence of God: a world of science and technology in which people only accept what they can prove, see, measure, weigh or touch. One important point we need to understand in the first place is that the existence of God cannot be proved in the same way, as you prove the existence of a physical object. This is simply because God is not a physical object. Any physical object is subject to your five senses. In simple terms, you can see, hear, smell, touch or taste a physical object. This is not possible in the case of God, as He (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala / swt) is a Transcendental Being. The methods of proving the existence of God with usage of the material provided in the ‘Concept of God in Islam’ to an atheist may satisfy some but not all.
Many atheists demand a scientific proof for the existence of God. I agree that today is the age of science and technology. Let us use scientific knowledge to kill two birds with one stone, i.e. to prove the existence of God and simultaneously prove that the Qur’an is a revelation of God.Let me remind you that the Qur’an is not a book of Science, ‘S-C-I-E-N-C-E’ but a book of Signs ‘S-I-G-N-S’ i.e. a book of ayaats. The Qur’an contains more than 6,000 ayaats, i.e. ‘signs’, out of which more than a thousand speak about Science. I am not trying to prove that the Qur’an is the word of God using scientific knowledge as a yard stick because any yardstick is supposed to be more superior than what is being checked or verified. For us Muslims the Qur’an is the criteria to judge right from wrong ,Surah Fussilat:
"Soon We will show them our signs in the (farthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?"
I don't need to appeal to any science at all to prove that God doesn't exist.
One important point we need to understand in the first place is that the existence of God cannot be proved in the same way, as you prove the existence of a physical object. This is simply because God is not a physical object.
And how would you suggest that we prove God then?
The methods of proving the existence of God with usage of the material provided in the ‘Concept of God in Islam’ to an atheist may satisfy some but not all.
You have not given any cogent arguments in any way.
Let me remind you that the Qur’an is not a book of Science, ‘S-C-I-E-N-C-E’ but a book of Signs ‘S-I-G-N-S’ i.e. a book of ayaats.
Useless rhetoric.
I am not trying to prove that the Qur’an is the word of God using scientific knowledge
The moral argument appeals to the existence of moral laws as evidence of God’s existence. According to this argument, there couldn’t be such a thing as morality without God; to use the words that Sartre attributed to Dostoyevsky, “If there is no God, then everything is permissible.” That there are moral laws, then, that not everything is permissible, proves that God exists.
According to this argument, there couldn’t be such a thing as morality without God
Unjustified assertion.
to use the words that Sartre attributed to Dostoyevsky, “If there is no God, then everything is permissible.”
Unjustified assertion. (And just a note of caution, don't quote literature against me. Chances are, for every book you have read, I have read at least 5 more).
That there are moral laws
Unjustified assertion.
proves that God exists.
No it doesn't. Your premises are not true to believe. Therefore, the argument fails entirely.
I don't believe that God does not exist. I believe God is the universe. I hope that god, or your perception of god helps you with your grammar however.
Let me ask you one question. Have you seen God before? What does "God" look like? Did you already have a conversation with God? or were you just "reading" the bible. Many of you say the bible says this and that, but then if the bible says everything..... Who Wrote the Bible Then?
Belief in One God is the most important axiom in Islam. The One God, Allah in Arabic, is the creator of everything else that ever existed, exists or will come to life by His Will. Allah is a living God, the creator, the shaper, the evolver, the Most High, the Exalted and the Perfect. There is none like Him. He has no beginning nor an end. Prophets like Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad performed miracles by the leave of God. May peace and blessings be on all His prophets. It is Allah Who created Adam without parents and Jesus without a father. It is God Who is not in need of sons and daughters. He begets not, nor is He begotton. It is Allah Who sent His final messenger Muhammad fourteen centuries ago as a mercy for the worlds
i don't believe in god but people who do believe in god say he helps them. if he is real or not he is helping these people. so i really am on both sides. doesn't help me but definitely helps others.
I am not sure of where you stand, but this is what I can distill: Prayer helps people, but God doesn't answer prayers. My view is that perhaps prayer might be some kind of placebo and it is really the person's mind who almost wills something to occur. Obviously such an argument works only for "wishes" that are more personal and not for something like praying for rain.
that is where i stand. its not gods answer to the prayer but the prayer itself which definitely helps people because as you said they think it might work. also when things don't go there way, they are satisfied because they believe god still answered the prayer (even though he obviously didn't )
Insightful thoughts. Furthermore, I would also argue that it might have been coincidences that prayers "work". Think about it. Let's say that Srom here prays for rain and it rains. My question is: Is it more likely that the invisible space daddy felt guilty for killing off his grandma and so he made it rain, or that the huge volumes of water vapour in the air caused it to rain regardless or whether Srom did pray for rain or not? In other words, it is more likely for there to be a supernatural or natural explanation for prayers to "work" or (seem to work)?
I would leave it to the debaters here to decide. However, it seems to me that any rational person would suspend judgement, look at the evidence and then conclude that it is more probable for there to be a naturalistic explanation for prayers to seem to "work".
Your entire argument here fails. If you can't see something, it doesn't mean that it is not there, that's true. However, it doesn't not mean that the polar opposite is true. You can't say that God exists merely based on the fact that it is not true that we can't see it. The lack of such visual evidence doesn't not constitute a complete factual account of the existence or non-existence of an entity.
Im not saying some god that truelly loves us does not exist (By the way that is not the question we are debating based on the title of this debate) BUT the thought that he listens in to your prayers all the time along with a billion other peoples is stretching it a bit. And if this is true you must consider this...
"He gives a busy man,
a second try.
But leaves a hurt girl,
leaves her out to die."
This poem is about a children that get sexually abused, is God answering their prayers?
The real difference here is those who have been educated with science and those who have been indoctrinated with religious views. There is no proof that God exists. The theological argument and the cosmological argument count for nothing as they both simply sound ridiculous. Science does not put forward a new theory without providing at least some evidence to back it up. The Greek and Roman gods were cast out after being considered 'myths' and completely false. How is Christianity or any other religion different?
If God is omnipotent, why is there disease? People have often said that this is all part of 'God's plan' or that it is all because of human error. This is frankly idiotic. We are part of an extremely civilised culture now and we do not need to make up excuses for things that occur naturally in nature, and without any 'supernatural power' controlling it. If there is God, why does he not answer prayers? If he is omnibenevolent, why would he ignore his followers?
God is not real. Move along with the rest of society.
You know why there is disease ... It's because of humans . In olden days there were diseases but not to the extent of what is there now ... The more advanced the technology is becoming ... The more the medicines , the more the diseases ... God knows what , when and how things have to be done ... All humans need is patience ... which most of us don't have!
Some deities seem to answer (I bear in mind coincidence) to rituals that invoke them, such as Weatherworking that calls upon Zephyros. But I tend not to invoke deities that much, as it is better to use your own power and do things yourself. I don't believe in one all powerful, all knowing god, just several all knowing ones (such as the Taras, Buddha) and several extremely powerful ones (As mentioned in ancient Roman, Greek, Nordic, Egyptian, Aztec...)
One of the most important questions facing mankind today is ‘what is the greatest challenge we face?’ There are many issues that the human race must acknowledge if it wants to survive. One of the most prominent problems emerging is in fact religion. Religion has caused the downfall of mankind in many different ways.
To start off, religion has been the basis for many of the wars that have occurred around the world over the course of history. Looking back over the last 3000 years there have been wars with religion at the heart of the problem. Protestants have killed Catholics, Christians have killed Jews, Sunnis have killed Shiites. The list continues. The Crusades from 1095 to 1291 resulted in the deaths of millions. It was all over a matter over who’s beliefs were true, who owned the ‘Holy Land’. As well as this, the IRA movement was influenced quite heavily by Catholicism. Clashes between religions has been a huge problem before, and it still happens now, with the war between 2 branches of Islam, the Sunnis and the Shiites. The Philippines currently has a conflict occurring in the South. This 43 year long conflict has resulted in the deaths of 160,000 civilians.
So why hasn’t anyone dealt with this problem before? The answer is simple. Politicians in the USA are being easily swayed by problems within religion. These leaders listen to religious problems and deal with them first. This means that the other challenges facing mankind are being put second, irrelevant issues in religions.
Furthermore, religion has hindered the progress of Science. A man called Copernicus was the first man to put forward the idea that the Earth went round the Sun rather than the opposite. However, he could not publish his findings as it went against what the Catholic Church said. If he did, he would be branded a heretic and sentenced a lifetime in prison or even death. It wasn’t until 73 years later that his book was finally published, and even then, the Church placed it on its ‘Index of Prohibited Books’. Most people know about Galileo. He was the first man to defy the Church teachings and was taken to court. He was convicted of heresy and was forced to spend the rest of his life under house arrest. Religion has stopped the progression of science, and this is one of the reasons why it is the greatest challenge facing mankind.
Religion has not only been the cause of global conflict, but there are links to religion causing overpopulation. The Catholic Church has always been strongly against the idea of abortion, contraceptive devices and even family planning. The current Pope stated that ‘Condoms are made by the devil’. This means that many Catholic families do not use contraceptive devices as it clashes with their beliefs. This leads to them having more children than they can afford, causing poverty and hunger. The Army of God has been known to bomb abortion clinics and send threatening notes to abortion providers. There have been assassinations and even anthrax attacks. Religion is at the base of these problems.
Finally, religion promotes feminism and attacks gay marriage. The root of gender bias is organised religion. All the major religions have considered woman as inferior and discriminated against them in their traditions, practices, scriptures and theological outpourings. Most religions believed women to hinder religious practice and spirituality. They were considered to be impure. Even now, Muslim women are force to wear Burkas to hide their face. They are not even allowed to look at other men apart from their husband and their husband is the dominant figure in the household. Religion has always been opposed to the idea of gay marriage. Gay couples have been kicked out of places and are generally discriminated against in public places, but even Christians, who believe God is accepting of everyone, discriminate against them as well. In the world today there is an increasing tolerance of gay couples, but religions have not modernised their concepts.
In conclusion, religion is the root cause of many problems around the world. It causes war, hinders science, causes overpopulation and poverty, promotes feminism and opposes gay marriage. It is the source of a large number of challenges that mankind must overcome if it is to succeed as a species. If religions changed their views, things could be better in the world.
It is not because of religion that so many wars have occured , but it is because of the mindset of humans . They have been the root cause but not religion . Why ? Because there is always this feeling in most humans that they are superior . Humans don't see each other as equals . And the fact that women are discriminated in religion is totally wrong . So the fault is on humans ... Don't blame God or Religion for it :/
