ElderScrolls Online; Would you Play it?
With "Tens of millions of dollars" gained from their game The Elder Scrotum Scrolls of Skyrim, Bethesda Softworks have decided to work on something new.
Instead of starting work on the sixth establishment of the Elder Scrolls games, they have decided to make an MMORPG out of it. This has caused both anger and excitement amongst the fans. Personally, I think the gameplay screenshots look great.
Despite the many issues fans have pointed out, this game may actually turn out to be awesome.
What do you think?

^^I think that monster is a Flesh Atronach.

If their is no monthly fee, I'd get it. I loved Oblivion and Skyrim, and while I'd prefer for their to be a Fallout 4, I'd totally get Elder Scrolls Online. I just hope it doesn't suck. Can Bethesda really make a good multi-player game? We'll see. 363 days ago | Side: Yes!
I think I would play it if you don't have to pay anything. But I bet the makers will make you pay at first, but if it gets popular they might make a free version. I loved Skyrim and the other games they made and I played Skyrim for a long time so I will definitively get it if they have it for free. 363 days ago | Side: Yes!

I agree, but one problem I've found is the double standard that some of the older generations have. They encourage us to play outside, yet if we do anything remotely imaginative (play in a river, throw things at each other, etc), they get all uppity and start complaining. Just as an example, I was recently at the park with a friend. He got into the small stream next to us to pick up a log, as we were going to play "POOH STICKS XTREME", (I take credit for the name). Then this crazy old bat walked past, called us "hooligans", and threatened to call the police. Luckily, I told her what an insane woman she sounded, and she dropped it. But the point is there. While I do play games in small quantities, I'm not surprised so many children today spend hours locked in their rooms playing video games. PS: I've just come back from a 6 hour walk, so if any of this doesn't make sense, I apologize, as I'm dying of dehydration, and may have cholera. 363 days ago | Side: Never...
why can't kids grabs some sticks and chase each other in the park while drunk on imagination? They can... they just rather not. ElderScrolls provides them with what they didn't have before, visual stimulation. It's also much safer to be in your house playing video games than outside chasing each other with sticks... or playing football. I found it to be much more fun when hanging with friends who were gamers as opposed to hanging with friends who weren't when I was younger. And I always had an insane imagination. Now, I hang out with whoever I can have a lot of fun with. I still play video games a shit load, but I also do other shit. It's about variety. And I can't wait for Elder Scrolls Online. 363 days ago | Side: Yes!
Unless they manage to preserve the skill and combat systems I love so much in Oblivion and Skyrim, I really don't see the point of an MMO. It wouldn't be the same game unless certain elements were preserved, and it seems like that would be difficult. And I was under the impression that another studio under the owners of Bethesda was taking reigns on the project? 363 days ago | Side: Never...
No. I didn't play it. 1

I wouldn't "never..." play it, but I wouldn't buy it for myself; I might check it out if a friend gets it, but for me TES has always been about single player action. I played II-V and generally love the way the games come together, but I feel that they only appeal to me because of the way they've been structured at single player games. TES online would be an entire different game, even if it keeps similar plot elements. Like if i got into playing Warcraft because i really liked strategy games then World of Warcraft would hold no appeal for me because its a MMOG. As it stands, I reactivate my WoW account whenever I want some online RPG action, but other than that I have no interest in another online game. I think TES should keep cranking out awesome single player games, even though the real money in gaming nowadays is in monthly subscriptions. 362 days ago | Side: Never...

No! MMO's are a quick way for game companies to make money! They consist of a total lack of storytelling, a group of people who dedicate their lives to sitting at their computers eating cheetos and chatting, and a shop of virtual weapons being sold for real money, so all of the rich kids win. In what world is this fun? 116 days ago | Side: Never...
