Yes. It would help greatly to learn math! if you are worried about having neat handwriting , there are many handwriting apps that use a stylus.

Side: Yes

Technology has developed many tools, and those tools will now always be a part of life. To avoid using this technology to educate children is just silly. Why not use all the resources you can?

"Why not use all the resources you can?"

#DangerousQuestion

A topic like this one raises many issues, like the health of our children. Enforcing the use of technology and school increases the likelihood of health problems and several different kinds of addictions, like gambling. To limit the use of technology at school is to think about the next generation and their future.

The health problems are less severe when electronics are utilised at home and not school as well. The benefits here aren't worth it when it causes health problems.

But then again shouldn't ironically the schools be teaching them to control their addiction to electronics. The benefits of electronics in most scenarios outweigh the negative possibilities.

Fair enough. Maybe a better way to say it is:

Why not consider using all the resources you can?

Electronics themselves do not pose serious health risks off hand. As such, saying "no electronics in school" would be foolish, because you will be missing out on opportunities to improve education.

Because when I go to the supermarket and the tech crashes, the cash register teens cannot count change properly

I think what you meant was "when the register breaks, the cashier (usually not a teen) cannot calculate the change.

If they can't count the change, then they would not be able to do their job with a working register.

Side: Yes

I can't imagine what it would be like in school without technology. It is important that kids learn basic ICT skills and many resources for revision are online.

There is also resources for children to download essays to turn in, resources to look up answers. The capability to cheat is rather 100%. It's an enabler at the moment.

Electronics are definitely a very important aspect of students lives. Electronics benefit both a students learning as well as their "playtime". The internet is a great way to connect to the world and has many pieces of fascinating information to offer. Also these devices allow students to connect with perhaps their family when needing a "pickup".

Side: Yes

Kids like Electronics, so, if Electronics attract kids toward learning, then full speed ahead.

As a student attending a school with required laptops(which are provided), and in a school where cellphones are typically out on a daily basis - I rather disagree. It is a brilliant idea, but I don't believe that there is enough control placed upon these devices. I can honestly say that - just using the lists the office have made - Facebook, Amazon, and Essay-now, are the top 3 websites that are visited. The moderating firewall that the school has implied upon us, is ridiculously easy to overcome. It's a good idea in essence, but in this society, most people use it as a distraction. I will not dis the good student that uses it appropriately, but in my experience most students are immature. Not to mention the extra costs that could be used for repairing the actual school itself, or the maintenance every year for these items. Its a hassle for everyone involved which is simply not worth it in this day and age when the numbers, witnesses, and grades all say its not appropriate at this time. I believe that in the future it will be used appropriately, but with the generations in control its not reasonable.

When I saw electronics in school, I was thinking they were talking about bringing Ohm's law back to High school.

But no, I think cell phones and the whatnot are distractions best left at home
