Environmentalists protesting North Dakota Pipeline left behind "Tons of Waste"

Hundreds of protesters flocked to Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota to protest the pipeline’s construction, which activists say will desecrate their sacred burial grounds and would contaminate their drinking water.Activists from across the country came to save a piece of Mother Earth, but ended up almost killing it. As the cleanup of the protest camp begins, authorities have found enough trash to fill 2,500 pick up trucks. Gov. Doug Burgum said that the amount of waste, coupled with the ending of winter and a potential spring flood, could lead to an environmental disaster concerning contamination of drinking water.
Doesn't seem the Progressive Leftist were really all that concerned with drinking water !

That's good...should be broadcast repeatedly everywhere. Those clowns would be much more respectable if they would clean up after themselves, maybe they'll figure that out but probably not. They've been that way ever since the hippies in California with their free love and free filth and garbage they left everywhere they went.

I swear progressives are the most hypocritical people on the planet. Not only do they act like children, but they can't clean up after themselves in which children are taught to do by age 5.

The contradiction within the environmental movement is those who claim to be all consumed with saving the planet always manage to trash whatever location they should happen to descend upon.

It would appear they're not at all concerned with the planet, and every protest seems to become a cause celebre for malcontents to express their disdain for whomever is the object of the protest.

There's not much sense in our worrying about drinking water with Trump giving his blessing to the Coal industry to dump whatever they wish into streams and rivers, now, is there? When all it will take is one earthquake along the totally unnecessary pipeline to pollute the largest aquafer in the country, (OR one tornado ripping through an exposed section). SHEESH, what a disaster to the Koch Bros. bottom line! But then, I'm sure Trump will increase subsidies to them so that they don't lose TOO much.

Those "tons of waste left by "protesters"" are likely what waste the Indians generate where there is NO tax money spent to supply garbage pickup for our Native Americans living on land "allotted to them" by us Johnny-come-latelies who stole their lands! The least we could do is help them! Blame it on Washington, not the environmentalists! The government will spend BILLIONS to clean up after the break in the pipeline and cry about how much it will cost the oil industry ... poor fellas!

I'm sure our new Energy Secretary and new EPA secretary will encourage fracking in the vicinity OF the pipeline (in our National Parks, especially) even though they have found the number of earthquakes has increased exponentially in those areas. Now YOU "worry" about a few "tons of waste" you "blame" on environmentalists?? Give me a break!

Nice rant but you avoid the question as the Good Progressive you are AL ! If the protesters were so concerned about the environment why leave behind all that trash that threatens their drinking water when that was what the protest was about !

Nice rant, but, you still can't read! I said that "stuff" is largely what living people leave behind when they LIVE. It's INDIAN STUFF! They can't afford big trucks to carry it to a landfill and , now that we've taken their GOOD land and refused to give them good schools, they are stuck in conservative limbo. The money wasted on Trumps wall could help them help themselves ... liberally.

Al of Road Island what did the Koch Brothers have to do with the trash left by the supposed environmentalists that want to save the planet ?

Al of Road Island do you know how long fracturing has been going on in the oil and gas industry ? Hey Al what is the need for fracturing when a pipeline is being put in place ?

Every day you make me think of one of my favorite personalities who must have known someone exactly like you. He said: "Do not argue with an idiot, he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."

Also: "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt."

He DID say something nice that should give you a bit of a sense that he wasn't ALL against your type .... "I don't give a damn for a man who can only spell a word one way!" (road island) ;-)

If they did that I agree that's terrible.

Question though. The authorities who gave permission to put that pipeline in are ultimately responsible for managing all aspects of civilization in the affected areas. Correct? So why don't they have a clean up service? They were able to afford massive police presence. They had eyes at all times, and boots on the ground. But they had no willingness to maintain that corner of civilization?

Tell me who has given the permission for the Federal Government to lay pipelines in Federal Waters ? Has there been any massive protests due to those pipelines being laid ?
