The debate question itself is flawed. America is one country, Europe is several countries. But "Vs" implies a fight, so Team America would probably win that one.

If you think that it would be a fight, then I cannot see any way that America could ever hope to win that battle. As you have said, America is one country, whereas Europe is several countries. America would therefore have no chance in winning a battle between the two unless they reverted to nuclear weapons - this wouldn't, however, allow for America to win, either. America would be bombed with nuclear bombs in retaliation, so they would either both lose, or just America. I do not think that America would step in to admit their defeat so easily, for some people would believe in the idea of their unrealistic success, such as yourself.

It is evident that you do not appreciate the monstrous scale of America's military. Their military expenditure is by far the largest in the world, at over 700 billion dollars. Putting that into perspective, that's roughly 14 times more than Britain, the leading European military power. And while Europe consists of countries, America consists of states, some which alone are more powerful than any European country. For instance, California would have the 8th largest GDP in the world if it were a country. Europe would definitely put up a fight, but the internal frailties of the EU would see them succumb to American military might eventually.

"Their military expenditure is by far the largest in the world" That doesn't mean that they are the best army in the world, at all. All that means is that America pays a lot of money into the military, and therefore they pay less into other problems that they have in their country, such as lack of money going into education compared to what they could be giving. In 2011, Nintendo spent more than twice the amount of money into research than America spent into their education system, with 700 billion dollars they could destroy that statistic and move onto higher things, such as better-educated leaders and therefore a brighter future after the future. See what I mean? With such a lack of current money, America's future isn't looking good; they might have a lot of money, but what is money when you have not the faintest clue how to use it? America trained Afghan soldiers and then went to war with them. Such a lack of intelligence isn't something that I would like my country to be run by. - Europe on the other hand, has a powerful balance, is doing better in the recession and is looking good. A war isn't just about how much is invested into the military, it is about stock markets, protecting the future, etc.

I was speaking exclusively with regards to war. That is the only thing you can fairly compare them on, as education varies from country to country in Europe, for example. Militarily, no-one is better than America. This is is a fact.

War and education are close to one another. If you were anticipating a long war over a large period of time, then you would want your leaders for the future to be good, wouldn't you? You would want them to be well-educated and knowledgeable if they were leading your country? Well, to make the next leaders good, you have to make the education system good now. Therefore the intelligence of future leaders is up to those who are in charge right now. "Militarily, no one is better than America. This is a fact" Europe is not, however, a single country though, is it? As you have said, Europe is a group of countries and, as I have explained, they could quite easily overpower America because of their dominance on the planet, the diversities of all of the countries they comprise, and all of the financial advantages they would have.

Because it's an unfair comparison, there are some European countries with great education, and some with poor education. You can't compare them all to America. Europe is not, however, a single country though, is it? As you have said, Europe is a group of countries and, as I have explained, they could quite easily overpower America because of their dominance on the planet, the diversities of all of the countries they comprise, and all of the financial advantages they would have. Yea, because Europe's doing so well right now isn't it? The entire Eurozone is screwed, and the internal political divides within the EU (largely between Germany and France) would see any unified war effort collapse quite quickly. Many countries would not take part, leaving America to sweep up the rest.
