That map at the bottom doesn't look all that small to me. In fact, a warzone is exactly what it looks like.

1 - My comment was a joke meant to point out how silly it is to get worked up over the contents of that map. That is what the smiley face and the outrageously ridiculous statement about the moderates being the problem were meant to communicate.

2 - If you are going to miss the joke, at least cogently address the surface-level content of the comment you are disputing.

3 - That map hardly displays a war zone, especially considering that it is over the course of 10 years. Divide the total number of red dots by 10. That is nowhere close to the level of violence in an actual war.

By contrast, add all three maps, which represent 10 years of extremists killing people, and it does not equal a year or two worth of non-ideological murders during that period in Chicago alone. That does not include Baltimore, St. Louis, LA and New Orleans, etc..

4 - I think you are missing what the problem actually is.

It does not really matter why some people are homicidal dickheads, and it certainly doesn't matter what excuse they use. (Brenda Spencer's excuse was that she didn't like Mondays.)

What matters is that they are homicidal dickheads. In the US, most homicide is related to other crimes and the inability to navigate social relationships.

The vast majority of ideologues, even extremists, don't kill people. This is because even extremists are generally able to live with people peacefully and productively.
