Faith in God is good because it helps you become a better person to trust God when you have faith. Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Side: It always good
Before engaging you in debate I'll say this. You put your view out there, thus you are opening it up for criticism. I hope to have a fun, positive, and informative debate with you. I'll give as much as I've got, I hope you reciprocate. Let us begin! First you said, "Faith in God is good because it helps you become a better person to trust in God..." I cut it off there because the rest is not relevant to the point I am raising. This is circular logic, which is no logic at all. You are saying, in layman's terms, faith in God is good because it gives you a faith in God. Which is literally stating nothing, because it adds no new information to the original statement. Next you said, "...And without faith it is impossible to please God..." This elicits, from nearly any sane person who was just presented with the information you have given, the question 'Why do I need to please God?' You do however go on to state that it comes with earnest rewards. So I must ask you, with no pretense or assumption, what are those rewards? Side: Not always right.

Faith by definition is belief without evidence or in the face of evidence for the contrary. Basically faith is what you use when you have no good reason to believe something but you go and believe it anyways. It leaves so much room for error and is what causes people to believe false things. Its an intellectually lazy way to live especially if you fit the later part of the definition and believe something for which there is no evidence in spite of other evidence for an alternative explaination. Faith is a really bad thing that has been warped by religion to be a good quality of a person. Yet no rational person need use of it. It just makes them feel good and secure in their delusions that a god is real and that the method by which they abandon all rationality is justifiable and admirable. Side: Not always right.
