Fasting works for me and it keeps the weight off, however, it takes a strong will to endure fasting.

Our hunter-gatherer ancestors probably feasted and fasted all the time depending upon food availability, weather, climate, etc etc, and we do it every night when we go to sleep. We have a sleep-fast every night and then have our break-fast when we wake up.

Losing weight I believe is an entirely different matter that is usually managed by eating well in moderation and incorporating movement or exercise into our daily life
