Should Flappy Bird have been taken off of the Apple app store?

Flappy Bird shouldn't have been taken off of the Apple app store. It is just a game leave it on! Who cares if it is causing people a lot of stress that is their businesses and if it becomes a major problem then just stop playing the game. Jees!

The developer is the one who pulled it off the market. However, there is a new Flappy Bird clone put on the market every 24 minutes according to this article, so people should have no problem getting their fix. I'm partial to Hoppy Frog myself (Android, Apple). It has a similar feel to it and has a little extra to make it interesting.

You know, the developer, Dong Nguyen, could easily have sold the rights to someone. I'm not saying he should have, because that I don't think would be that good of a point. I'm saying that he made this amazing game, that I think is a pretty cool thing to do. I know the rest of the world probably doesn't agree with me on this, but here's what I think.

1. It's a wonderful wonderful thing to contribute to the world on that large of a scale. He gave many kids another way to occupy themselves. He contributed creativity, that I think is like art. He also may have inspired someone else's game.

2. He put so much work into the game, I'm guessing. I mean, maybe he didn't. But to make a game like that on your own is HARD from what I've heard. He's throwing away his work.

3. He won't tell ANYONE why he took the game off. It's kind of rude, IMO, to put up this game that everyone ends up loving. Then take it off WITHOUT even the smallest notice. I know he probably has some private reason, but there will always be a spot in my heart for the wonderful game.

I know these sound like insanely stupid and shitty arguments, but I really think that it's a pretty cool thing when a kid if playing a game like that. Then, they ask their friend where the game came from and their friend says "This guy made it himself. His name is Dong Nguyen." It's the beauty of the app store. It's the beauty of innovation, which is the point in the app store.

"He put so much work into the game, I'm guessing."

A game that simple can be written in a weekend. It's crazy to think the guy is making $50,000 a day for something that probably only took him a few days to write. He hit the jackpot on that one.

Alright, and by taking it off he probably just destroyed his chance at unlimited income for the rest of his life. I mean, does he have $1,000,000,000? No, maybe millions right, but I doubt that he actually has a billion. Why would he give up so easily?

It's fine not to care that much about money, in case you disagree with my previous point. I mean that's respectable. But what about the fact that he contributed something. He took away his own contribution to society. That's a little bit shitty to me. I know there are clones, but its so much more fun to have the original IMO.

Also, if he cares about money, which I think most people do (NOT ALL), why would he take it off.
